    • Decent but very small sonicator
The technical term for these is "sonicator". They use high amplitude relatively high frequency sonic waves in water. We use these in the chemistry lab all the time and they serve many purposes. As a result, I've used sonicators that cost upwards of $1000. So how does this one compare to the good laboratory sonicators? It provides very powerful sonication, so on that front, it is actually comparable. The major difference is size. This is very small. Yes, you can fit a mouth guard or some jewelry in this, but not much else. I do think this would be great for cleaning a mouth guard, especially with the UV light. We tried it on an old mouth guard of my wife's that had mildew growing on it (why she stopped using it) and it wouldn't completely get rid of the mildew, although it did lighten it quite a bit. But for everyday use (don't let your mouth guard sit for days without without cleaning and get gross) it works great. ... show more

    • Works for now; sound isn't annoying
So far I really like this device. I use a mouthguard and wanted to keep it as clean as possible because, man, was that thing expensive! So far it's fine. (But this is the second UV sanitizer I've purchased recently, the first one [from a different brand] stopped working out of nowhere just one month into using it 3-4x/wk. I hope this lasts longer than that.) One press/cycle 1 gets you light and 5 minutes of constant "vibration;" 2 presses gives you light and intermittent vibration for 5 minutes, then light and constant vibration for an additional 5 minutes (10 min. total run time for cycle 2). The other one I had only had one cycle (I was fine with that) but the vibration noise was so intense (for my severe tinnitus) that I had to stick it in a carpeted closet and close the door while it ran, and I had to be out of the room. This one makes the same sound, but it seems to be at a different speed/level/vibration that it's *shockingly* not bothersome to me. I prefer to leave the echo-y bathroom while it runs, but I've stayed in there for the entire 10 minutes and not had a headache or residual ringing. The light only comes on when the lid is almost closed/closed, like a fridge door. The toothbrush slots on top are a nice feature, but they're a bit awkward to angle your brush head in. I feel like the power button could easily be on the front and the holes on top could be 4, or the 2 could be centered better. A bit bulky to store, and the power cord doesn't stow away inside the unit. I was able to purchase this through Vine for a discount, but I think for under $40 (at time of purchase, 3/20/24) it's a good option to try out.     • Easy to use and clean
I have a nighttime mouthpiece I use to keep me from grinding my teeth. It works well, but the daily clean up was tiresome. Sometimes I would skip a night because I hod forgotten to clean the mouthpiece. Now I just drop it in the sonic /UV cleaner with water and a bit of mouthwash and presto! It is ready to use again. There are easy-to-clean tweezers included so no need to find my chopsticks to extract my mouthpiece. One thing I especially like about this cleaner is that the top is attached so I never misplace it when cleaning. Also, the power cord is detachable, again making cleaning it safer. I am using mouthwash with it because it suggests using a solution, but I haven't gotten one yet. I see there are enzymatic solutions available, etc. In any case, my mouthpiece is clean, I am comfortable putting it in my mouth night after night. ... show more

I've used this to clean a few pieces of jewelery, and it works pretty well. Don't expect the results you see in online videos, those are obviously faked most of the time. This isn't going to give you a cloud of dirt immediately when you lower something in unless it's just covered in loose dirt. It is, however, really good at getting the almost unreachable spots in intricate jewelry clean. Just be really careful and check settings if you use it on something with stones, because it can loosen them. ... show more

    • Buy this! It is amazing!
Wasn't sure what to expect with this as I've never had or used one before. Now I wonder how I lived without it! I have a very old (like decades old) retainer that was hard to keep clean and was looking it's age. I put this on the 10 minute setting and the retainer came out looking brand new! I now use it every morning. It even has slots for electric toothbrush heads or a regular toothbrush. You just add water, plug it in and push once for a 5 minute setting and twice for a 10 minute setting. It comes with plastic tweezers to make it easy to remove your dental appliance so you don't have to touch it. If you have removable dental appliances of any kind, BUY THIS!
