  • Hmm decent
I loved the first two games. But this game, well, there are more cons than pros in this game in my opinion. Cons: -Story mode is god awful compared to EO and EO2 -No sub-plots -The characters have no personalities -The AI narrator sounds boring. -I had connection issues with the shared diving. -Can’t just pick a region to explore, have to have a dive site ID (what the actual crap?) or start a new solo dive. -Plus, as you clear a map, can’t pick a specific area to begin a dive on a map. You begin at the same area -The games’ music is boring and has no emotion. - You don’t interact with creatures. EO and EO2 you got to feed and pet/poke them. -Stuff is just handed to you in this game. Previous 2 games you had to actually earn stuff. Upgrades, cosmetics, etc. The grinds felt more worthwhile. Cons: -The regions are quite large. The exploring aspect is amazing. It’s satisfying clearing a map. -Lots of new creatures to discover. More in the game to find in general. -Love that they added prehistoric creatures. Overall, I found it to be decent. It’s very chill if you want a non-violent game. There was LOTS and I mean LOTS of missed opportunities. The exploring aspect is only reason I got this game and play it. However, I would probably wait until it goes on sale if you want to give this game a go. ... show more

  • An abysmal insult.
The previous games were great and had actual progression, interaction with the animals, and scientific research. This game is just a randomly generated fish tank that you swim around in and scan fish to add them to your pokédex. The "story mode" missions are absolute trash busy work, and the disembodied robo-voice guide is nothing but a constant irritant. If this had instead been a lazy, unchanged port of the previous titles, it would have been far, far superior to the insulting embarrassment that it is. I 100% wish I'd pirated it first to try out instead of paying for it; that's what I get for assuming and trusting the team just because their previous work was so amazing. ... show more
