I bought this to replace a Swiss Gear backpack that I've been using as my "personal item" for the past 8 years. The backpack is still in excellent condition, but I'm doing much more traveling for work now and I have found that I no longer want to lug extra weight around on my back. I went in search of an alternative and found this bag. It arrived quickly (Prime) and in excellent condition with no funny smells. I ordered black and it's a true, deep black. The quilting adds a classy touch, elevating the overall look of a basic black bag. I like that the inside is a light grey so it's easier to see inside. The fabric used throughout its construction feels very substantial and should perform well. I haven't gotten anything on it yet, but the fabric seems like it would be easy to clean most debris off with a damp cloth. The luggage handle operates smoothly and locks into several different heights. There are carry handles on the top that are very sturdy and convenient. It easily stands upright on its own, which I love. It has two in-line wheels that roll smoothly, even over rough pavement. However, I do wish that the bag had 360-degree caster-type wheels to make maneuvering it a bit easier. I knew that it did not when I purchased this, so this is just a "wish list" item. I like the front zip and the almost hidden slip pockets - they are very handy for the things most often needed, like earbuds, sleep mask, tissues, etc. Inside, there are lots of pockets (both slip and zip) and they hold tons of stuff. Plenty of room throughout for snacks, charging cables, wet wipes, etc. The laptop pocket is padded and easily holds my 14" Lenovo. There is also a second electronics pocket that I use for my 10" iPad and to hold file folders. The back side compartment unzips fully so that it will lay flat and has the clothes bungee cords. The two side pockets unzip and will accommodate a 1L water bottle (think Smartwarter) and a compact travel umbrella (on the other side). All in all, I am really happy with this purchase. My neck, shoulders, and back are already thanking me for making the switch to this bag. The only other thing I feel is missing is a small, protective, easy-to-get-to zip pocket to store my sunglasses, but I'm so pleased with the bag overall that I can overlook that. It has only made one round-trip journey with me so far, but I feel that it will hold up well for quite a long time. *Update 11/13/2023: this bag fits nicely underneath the seat on Southwest 737-700 and 737-800 for the window and middle seats. Great little carry-on! Purchased this for international travel. Worked great! Ample pockets for small laptop and other essentials, plus easily holds a few days of packed clothing if you roll them tightly. The only thing I wish it had was 360-degree wheels. The wheels only roll forward and backward, which is tricky if you are also navigating an airport and escalators with other luggage in tow. I had it fully packed and it still fit under my seat in premium economy and regular economy on United flights. ... show more

My new carry-on just arrived today, so I packed a "test run" in advance of my trip to Europe next month. Note that I am also checking a bag, so I'll be using this only for onboard items and emergency clothing. I posted several photos to give you an idea. I am no longer a business traveler but still wanted organized spaces for my tech items, Kindle, travel documents, etc. Frankly, I made everything fit before discovering the additional section! Now, as for clothes, the reviews I read elsewhere are correct: there is NOT much room. All I need, however, is a change of clothes, undies, pjs, makeup bag, 3-quart bag, and a pair of sandals. I fit a pair of jeans, denim shirt, and pjs in a compression bag and the rest wherever it would fit. I did it! I actually considered the TravelPro to match my 25-inch but opted for this less expensive bag that has organized spaces. TravelPro does not. And since this is just a carry-on, I can protect it. I'll post an update in October after my travels. So far, however, I like it! UPDATE: I did travel with it to Europe, and it worked fine for the purpose above. However, coming home I really needed more space because of those alluring travel gifts. So, the underseat TravelPro bag matching my others is now in my closet, too--a big sale at Macy's was hard too pass up. It also includes one tablet/document compartment which will be sufficient. I like it. Wheels around well. Fits on top of another suitcase. Holds a lot. It is bigger than I thought it would be and I was afraid it wouldn't fit under the seat it front, but it did on United. Not any room left for your feet though.

This is a great product! I used it recently and was amazed at how much it held. It has more than enough sections to make organizing your packing easy. I did not have any problems with the wheels or handle. There was a rough section on the sidewalk at the airport that I didn’t see but the wheels rolled without any problems. I didn’t get the color I really wanted because it didn’t coordinate with my luggage. Now I’m going to buy another one in the other color to use when I’m not using my other piece of luggage. It fits nicely in the overhead bins of planes, it has the perfect number of pockets to organize a laptop, a change of clothes, charging cables, reading materials, and all the miscellaneous bits and bobs you need while traveling. Good size. Small. Perfect for overnight plus laptop. It's quite slimline which I like. But the handles are horrid cheap plastic. Would have been better to have webbing or some kind of fabric. But these are stiff like second hand plastic handles from the 70s or something. I do like the way the zips work. And fabulous outer pockets. So ... a solid 4. I love this little carry on. It’s a little smaller than a backpack but you can organize your stuff better so you can pack more. The handle and wheels are good quality. Rolls good and is lightweight. Love it!
