I'm no expert, but these are the nicest cues I've ever played with. Might need to modify tips
Color: wood
I was very surprised by the quality of these cues. Getting a 4-pack I kind of assumed they would be very poor quality, something for knocking around in your buddy's garage pool table. But these are actually very nice pool cues. I am not an expert, I don't have all the tools for precision measuring of all the different qualities of billiards cues, but I have played casually for decades. I can confidently say that every one of these cues is 10 times better than any cue I've ever used in any bar, restaurant, pool hall, or friend's house. They have excellent weight, they screw together easily and tightly, with no gaps, they are straight as an arrow, and they have a marvelous satiny low-friction feel during play. The balance of weight feels great, these feel so good to play with that I think I may never have held a decent cue before lol. The only thing I wasn't in love with are the tips, but I get the impression from looking on the internet that I'm supposed to shape these and modify them a little bit, like cut them down with a razor to round up the edges, or make some flat and some rounded, etc. I think I need to do that and work some chalk into them, but I'll need to do some research on that, I don't want to mess them up by accident. So, if you're an absolute beginner and don't have experienced billiards friends, you might want to look into how to handle new tips before getting these. I don't know a ton about pool cues, but I know these are the best ones I've played with so far. I might even be that guy that takes his own cues to the bar, I don't know how I can go back to those beat up bent bar cues after using these lol. CD in pics is for size reference ... show more

Good for casual home games but quality control is spotty
Color: Black
I got this set to have some extra sticks around the house for when friends come over. For the price of a four pack, I was not expecting anything amazing, but they actually feel pretty solid in your hand. The black finish looks really clean and the shafts have a smooth glide when you take a shot. They screw together tightly without any weird gaps. There are a few noticeable quirks though. The biggest problem is the weight distribution. They are supposed to give you a mix from 18 to 21 ounces, but the stickers do not match the actual weight of the sticks. You might end up with a couple heavy ones and miss out on the lighter options completely. Another thing is the bottom of the cue. Instead of a standard rubber bumper, it has a hard cap. You have to be a little careful resting them on a hard floor so they do not slide or bang around. The tips also need some work right out of the box. They come completely flat, so you will definitely need a tip shaper to round them out before playing your first game. They hit just fine for casual basement games, but be prepared to reglue a tip if one pops off after a few hard breaks. Pros: - Nice smooth finish for easy shooting - Good price for a complete set of four - They feel sturdy and screw together tightly Cons: - Actual weights do not match what the stickers say - Hard bottoms instead of rubber bumpers - Tips are completely flat and need shaping immediately ... show more

Decent set for the price, but be ready to reglue a tip
Color: Black
For a set of four cues, I think the price is pretty reasonable. These aren't cues I would compare to a higher-end personal cue, but for keeping around a home table for family and guests, they do the job well. My biggest design complaint is the bottom of the cues. I would have heavily preferred rubber bumpers rather than the harder material used here (although clearly I did not take away a star). For cues that may be handled by a lot of different people, a little extra protection on the bottom would make sense. The tips are another area to watch. They seem to come loose relatively easily. That's certainly not unheard of with inexpensive pool cues, and reglueing a cue tip isn't particularly difficult, but I would be prepared for the possibility that you'll need to do it eventually. Otherwise, they play fine, feel reasonably durable, and give you four matching cues without spending a fortune. Overall, I think the value is there if you're looking for a set of general-use cues for a home table. Just set your expectations appropriately and keep some cue-tip glue handy. ... show more

Solid Four-Cue Set for a Home or Game Room Pool Table
Color: Black
This Empire USA set is a convenient way to outfit a pool table with four full-size 57-inch cues rather than buying each stick individually. The black finish gives them a clean, uniform appearance that should fit nicely in a home game room, recreational space, or other shared billiards setup. The cues are described as using a fiberglass/graphite composite construction, which is a practical alternative to traditional wood for players who prioritize durability and consistency. Reinforced joints add to the sturdy design, while the textured grip sections are intended to provide better control and a more secure feel during shots. Each cue also comes with a performance-oriented tip designed for consistent contact and ball control. Since this is a four-cue set, it's particularly useful for casual multiplayer games or keeping several matching cues available around one table. Overall, this looks like a good option for someone wanting a durable, matching set of four full-size pool cues. The composite construction, textured grips, reinforced joints, and clean black styling give the set a nice balance between everyday durability and a more polished billiards-room appearance. ... show more

Good quality
Color: Black
I’ve bought Empire USA pool cues in the past and had some arrive with the logos mesed up, so I was a little hesitant about ordering these again. I wasnt sure what to expect this time, but these arrived looking great. The logos are clean and everything looks the way it should. The cues also seem to be good quality. They have a nice feel in your hand and don’t look or feel cheaply made. I’ve only had them for a short time, but so far I’m impressed with how they look and feel compared to my previous experience. I’ll admit I questioned the quality after having that issue with the earlier cues, but these changed my mind. These arrived perfect and seem like a solid set of pool cues. If the quality stays consistent id have no problem buying them again. ... show more

All straight and work well
Color: wood
Good pool cues. Ive had these 2 piece ones in the past when I played a lot with my old friend (RIP my friend). These screw in just fine, and they're very straight, unlike those canons they'll give you in most pool halls. Nice color, wood, looks traditional but the feel is very nice. Sturdy, good breaking, didn't feel the joint at any point in play when I was using them. Im no pro anymore, but I can tell you, 9 out of 10 people will not notice the difference between this and a one piece cue. These fit me well with how far I draw while striking, so Im sure they'll work fine for just about anyone unless you're just monstrously big. ... show more

First impressions look and feel promising
Color: wood
I ordered these pool cue sticks to use at the pool hall but haven't had a chance to take them out yet. That said, just from handling them at home, I can already tell a lot about what I'm working with. The build feels sturdy, the weight is right where I'd want it, and the quality looks decent for the price point. Nothing about them feels cheap or flimsy when you pick them up and hold them. First impressions matter, and these are giving me a good feeling. The weight distribution feels balanced, which is usually a solid indicator of how a cue is going to perform when you're actually at the table. I'm genuinely optimistic that they're going to hold up well once I get them to the pool hall for real play. For a set meant for group or recreational use, they seem like a practical and dependable option. I'll come back and update this review once I've had a chance to actually use them in a real game setting. If anything changes or something surprises me, good or bad, I'll note it here. For now, based purely on the look, feel, and weight right out of the box, I'm happy with what I received. ... show more

Cue Weights Not Necessarily What They’re Labeled
Color: wood
This set of 4 wood cues by Empire were just what I wanted, namely a range of cue sticks: one 18oz cue, one 19oz cue, one 20oz cue, and one 21oz cue. I like having a variety of weights for my guests to choose from so this seemed like the perfect choice. However, to my dismay, although the cues are labeled 18-21oz, what I received were the following: Cue labeled as 18 oz; actual weight 18 oz - GOOD! Cue labeled as 19 oz; actual weight 20 oz - BAD! Cue labeled as 20 oz; actual weight 21 oz - BAD! Cue labeled as 21 oz; actual weight 21 oz - GOOD! So what I ended up with was one 18 oz cue, no 19 oz cue, a 20 oz cue, and two 21 oz cues! A 50% correct rate is not very impressive. Not only that, but the 19 oz cue stick (the one that actually weighed 20 oz) was noticeably warped! See the video. The other three had some wobble to them but were what was to be expected for cues in this price range and played fine. The shafts themselves were relatively smooth and would guide through your bridge nicely. These are the first cues with a carbon fiber ferrule and the hit was as good as any other house cue I have. The tips arrived flat so you’ll probably want a tip shaper to give the tip some curve to it. I tried to give it a nickel shape since a dime shape is probably too much for a visitor who just wants to have a good time but doesn’t put too much spin or English on the cue ball. These are 2-piece cues. However, what is different is that the pin is in the shaft rather than in the butt section. This is opposite of what is normally the case for 2-piece cues so don’t expect to be able to simply swap out the shaft for a different one. This set of cues is probably closer to 3-1/2 stars. I rounded down rather than up though due to: 1) half the cues not being their advertised weight; 2) 1 out of 4 being too warped to use; and 3) weird pin configuration so that even though they have a interchangeable shaft, most likely you won’t find one that comes with the pin in it. ... show more
