*update* !! The mug still works awesome and I’m super happy with it…PLUS…I discovered that my yeti travel cover fits in it!!! This extends the 80 mins of heat to MOST OF THE DAY (at 120F) if you can get ahold of a travel lid then you’ll love it even more!!! I tried out Ember, Nextmug and a coffee cup warmer. I chose Ember and here's why: (For context I am a busy mom and I drink one cup of coffee per day. I tend to sip on that cup all morning long. I like to bring it around the house with me, often settling in one area for long periods (like to do a craft or do computer). I chose the Ember mug and here's why not the others: 1) The warmer- I couldn't bring the mug around the house with me, it had to always stay on the warmer. Also, as I drank the coffee down, it got hotter and hotter (less to heat). I had to keep turning the warmer down. Twice I forgot I left the warmer on and left the house and it stayed on all day. The warmer was also very hard to clean if you got a ring on it because it gets baked on. Literally I could not get the ring stain off. Lastly, the coffee tastes super gross after a few hours. Not sure why...but the heat from the bottom does something to it. 2) Nextmug - I didn't like the shape of the mug. It looks deep but actually half of the mug is the heating element so it's not deep. Mine kept shutting off randomly, like within 10 mins of setting it, maybe it was defective? It also seemed to get hotter as the liquid became less like the warmer did. 3) Ember - immediately I could see the temp on the app as soon as the liquid hit the cup, which I thought was NEAT! It turns its self on automatically when the coffee is put in it and goes to the last setting you set it at. It keeps it at that exact temperature regardless of how much is left in the cup (yay!). Thus it never overheats the coffee and the coffee stays delicious. I can take it all around the house and it is sturdy, looks cool and is nice and deep. It does shut off a lot sooner (from inactivity) than others, BUT it heats back up again surprisingly quick, so I'll take it. Others have voiced connectivity issues. I have an iphone14 pro and it hasn't had any trouble yet, but I just got it. For the record I was hoping I could control it via the app even when I wasn't home (like turn it on and off remotely) but it doesn't work that way. Since it's bluetooth and not wifi controlled you have to be near it for it to work. Good luck friends! ... show more

I LOVE this mug. I had previously tried a very inexpensive electric cup warmer, and returned it. It heated the entire mug, meaning the handle and everything was hot when you picked it up. This Ember mug is in a different price category altogether, but totally worth it. It looks nice, simple to use, and it ensures every sip of coffee you take is the perfect temperature. (April 11, 2024) So far so good. Have used most days of the week for the last 2 weeks and it is working exactly as described. Pros: The app is easy to use and has a lot of nice features. I like the customization option for the front light and that it shows the battery life. The cup itself is very easy to clean by hand, no staining at all if it sits unrinsed overnight. It will stay at a default temp of 135 F° if you don't use the app or don't have your phone (which isn't as warm as it sounds depending on the drink, but it is a very intuitive feature). Neutral: The cup will stay charged for 90 minutes without the charging plate which is good for someone who is at a desk, but not practical for on the go. However if you are drinking coffee, the flavor is best within 2 hours of brewing. Con: Only downside is when it's off it's not very self insulating. Your drink goes cold fast like a regular mug. You have to keep it on to keep your beverage warm. Also, the lid was an add on. For the price you'd expect it to include the lid. Overall giving 4 stars right now and will update after longer use. ... show more

Great device for keeping hot beverages hot! The temperature is adjustable through the phone app, although the mug will keep the settings without being connected to the phone app. The connection is via Bluetooth and is pretty straightforward.

I can’t really say anything that hasn’t already been said. Yes it’s expensive. Yes, it’s a luxury. Yes, I would hate to ever be without it. Zero issues with the software and connecting via Bluetooth on an IPhone. Once in a while, it doesn’t recognize that it’s empty. I love this cup so much I bought 4 of them. I got the Rose Gold from Ember directly, the white one from here, Best Buy had the blue one on a great sale today, and the Sage one somewhere. As you can see the cup is a little testy (it shouldn’t be red) but a quick reset on it phone got it to maintain the temperature again! I have 2 jobs so I keep one at both jobs, one at home by my bed and one by my recliner!! I bought these super cute wooden spoons because I read the reviews and don’t want to scratch them up! I also leave on the charger a lot and bought the lids to go with to hold my ideal temperature which is perfect for me!! ... show more
