I had to assemble the tripod before use. It would have been great to be able to pull it from the box and use it without having to spend 5 minutes making sure I put it together correctly. The phone holder had a piece of rubber that was coming off to help ensure a good hold on the phone. I didn’t have to remove the case from my iPhone to use it. Stability is always important when using a tripod. I did most of my testing in an outdoor environment. Saying that, when attaching my iPhone to the tripod, I was on an uneven surface (but not extreme) and the wind was blowing. I found that I had to weigh down one of the legs to keep it from falling/blowing over. I was glad that it was falling into a grassy location and not on a hard surface (like concrete). I did like the minimalist features to this product as I have to carry a tripod most of the time. It was small and had a very small footprint compared to other tripods that I’ve used. The legs are small enough to stay out of the way, however this comes with reduced stability when extended to full height. The addition of a remote android/iPhone shutter was a pleasant surprise.

I am always glad to see the downsides to a product, because it might relate to my needs, BUT, I think some people are comparing this to the features of a $100 Tripod, and as I am writing this, you can buy THIS ONE for just over $11, with the coupon offered! It isn't a Tripod you want to set up on a rocky cliff, in high winds to get an ocean shot, BUT for still shots for the family, videos, etc....around your home or in normal settings, this is a LOT of tripod for this PRICE, okay?! In my pictures you can see what you get, and the directions are pretty good, except they give you NO direction on the 'set up' of the remote?! LUCKILY, a previous reviewer found that information and shared it with us all...(THANK YOU!) I followed their directions and it worked perfectly. 1. Turn on the side switch until the blue indicator light flashes. 2. Turn on the Smartphone's Bluetooth (under General Settings) and search for "AB Shutter 3" 3. Select the device and pair. Pairing is now complete and the device is ready to use. This tripod was easy to assemble, and has many different easy adjustments for height, and different angles. In the pictures you can see an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a slim case on the tripod and it fit fine, with a very good grip on the phone. I tried my iPhone 13 Pro Max with a larger, waterproof case on it, and the phone grip didn't spread wide enough to hold it. The MAXIMUM SPREAD on the phone grip is 3 3/8". You also can use the top section of the tripod and the phone grip as a 'Selfie Stick', if you want. So, in my opinion, if you don't want to invest a lot to have a tripod for mostly home use, or stable situations, or maybe you have never owned one, and want to try it, this one is a very GOOD FOR THE PRICE. They don’t tell you what to do with the remote, but all you have to do is switch it on with the little slider switch on the side, open up Bluetooth on your phone, and pair with “AB Shutter 3”. On Android and iOS both of the buttons on the remote are a “volume up” button and you can use either one. If your camera app takes a picture when you press “volume up” (they usually do) then that’s all you need. The remote comes with a battery. The tripod itself is fine. It’s a bit lightweight over all, but it’s only advertised to hold a phone. The phone clamp has what looks like a standard screw mount you could attach to a sturdier tripod if you like. The phone clamp has a spring - you push the jaws apart, put the phone in, and let them chomp down. My only complaint is that they don’t clamp down close enough to hold the remote. That would be a handy way to store them together. The box was open when it arrived and the contents had spilled out into the outer Amazon box, but all the parts appear to be there.

I broke my first tripod and finding a quick flip lock adjustable tripod was extremely hard to find. When I saw that this tripod was LESS THAN $20, I HAD TO HAVE IT. I am not disappointed at all. It’s like my first tripod but taller. Comes with the phone mount (that can screw in horizontally or vertically), an easy to connect bluetooth remote, and can bend 180 degrees. My only concern is how the legs don’t feel secure. When folded, one leg dangles so I feel like I have to be careful. It does wobble A LITTLE BIT when fully adjusted, but I’m not nunchuck-ing my tripod so it’s fine for me. For the price, performance, and lightweightedness, I highly recommend this tripod!!

I feel like a lot of people are not using this for what it's intended for. I mean, what do you expect at this price? This is perfect for my daughter and her social media videos. It's really compact and yet can still reach all the way up to head height. Is it flimsy, yes, will it take a decent 15 second video for the social media, you betcha. The phone mount is nice because it has a screw hole on both the back and one end. I haven't tried it, but you could in theory use that same screw hole on any tripod. I do wish the mount's tabs stuck out just a bit more. It had trouble holding my S22 Ultra while it's in it's case. It was was not only at the maximum for stretch, but the tabs barely were able to grab around the case. One frustrating thing is that there is an included Bluetooth remote, but there are no instructions on it's use (at least that I could find). I finally believe that I found some instructions online, but haven't tried it yet. 1. Turn on the side switch until the blue indicator flashes. 2. Turn on the Smartphone's Bluetooth, Search for the name "AB Shutter3". 3. Select the device & pair, pairing is complete and the device is ready to use.
