Had to use an extension cord to be able to put these on a table right next to the socket. They are great but having to plug them in that way is an issue, if the extension isn't lying flat it pulls them over and if it is, they don't reach the table. I was looking for lights to brighten my face on video conferencing calls. These do the job, but they are uncomfortably bright when shining directly onto my face. I wish I had gotten the dimmable version now. The design is great. Very compact and easy to use.

Amazes me just how much light you need sometimes to photograph something well! I needed to shoot some small objects in a light box- which itself is bright, but without these lights I was getting harsh shadows and it still felt like I was shooting in the dark. These lights positioned just so eliminated the shadows and lit my subject very well. I really love that they are portable and fold up pretty small for easy storage. In just a matter of seconds you can take them out, stand and position them, get your shots, then storage them away quickly. I've only needed the white filter to diffuse the light some, but the additional colored filters are nice depending on your needs. ... show more

Just wanted to note that these lights are VERY bright. They will blind you and are not soft lighting at all. This is fine, depending on the purpose.

These seem great. I photograph my jewelry and it's challenging! They are a good size, stable, adjustable, bright, plug in power. I didn't want the usb power that is also available, but in different circumstances that might be fine. I'm really pleased with them. They seem fairly priced and they arrived fast. I thought I'd write a review since I've been using these little guys for my cooking channel. You can see how they work in any of my videos at "Legends of Cookery" on YT. My lighting is these two lamps and my regular kitchen lights. I've not had to make any lighting fixes in IMovie, which I'm using to edit. First--when my order initially arrived, there was only one light inside the box. I returned the box and within a couple of days, I had my replacement. So, kudos for great customer service. As to how the lights actually work. I can't speak to how good they are on skin, because I use them on cooking videos but, for me, they were absolutely worth the price. Their light is brighter than I expected. In fact, sometimes, I shine them onto the ceiling and simply use the reflected light for a nicer tone. I haven't used any of the filters, because they don't seem to give me the bright quality that I want for my videos. The filters do work, though--I just don't use them. A small thing--I have dropped both lamps a good dozen times and they've managed to survive my clumsiness every time. Overall--I'd buy them again and I'd definitely use this vendor again. ... show more
