The media could not be loaded. I originally bought this screen due to Covid. I was looking for a fun activity where social distancing could still be practiced. I thought this would be perfect to set up an outdoor movie night. I ended up never setting up the screen. I ended up buying a house with a big backyard and decided to give it a go at setting up the screen. It took a while to figure out how to set up because the instructions weren't very easy to follow. But after finding some videos, I was able to do it. I assembled the frame, but when I went to snap the screen on, it was about an inch too short and will not snap onto the frame unless I snap the top and leave the bottom hanging loose. Unfortunately, I am well outside of the return window otherwise I would have returned it. Unless I can find another screen that fits, I am left with scrap metal. If anything changes, I will update the review. Update: I originally gave this 1 star because the screen didn't fit the frame. I took a break for a couple of weeks and decided to try it again. This time, I worked harder to stretch the screen for the snaps to fit. I almost snapped my fingers off trying, but after quite a few tries spanning a good number of days, I was finally able to stretch it to fit. My fingers were in pain by the time I was done though. I was finally able to test the screen and it looked great. I left the projector up for a few days in hopes it would not be so difficult to snap the screen on next time. I changed the review to 4 stars because it really is a nice screen if you can set it up, but loses a point for the initial difficulty. This screen can be viewed with projector in front of or behind the screen and the video will show on both sides regardless of which side the projector is on. Unfortunately, if the projector is in front of the screen, the words will read backwards on the other side. More than likely, that will not be much of a problem unless the movie is subtitled. ... show more

Like a lot of families this year, we decided to set up a back yard theater to have friends over while maintaining social distancing. When we went to pull the trigger to purchase the projector and screens, we learned that screens are tough to get these days, but Amazon finally got them in stock at a price much better than other online retailers. I'm an engineer (only saying that so you know where my head's at for this review), and this screen is made about as well as I'd expect it to be for a consumer product at this price. I chose this brand since they appear reputable and are carried by stores that also sell higher-end photography gear and theater products. It's made in China like everything else these days, but it's backed by a US company. I like the mostly-aluminum construction, which helps with the weight tremendously. The screen itself is nice and thick and I expect it to last a long time. The PVC material looks like it'll clean up easily should it pick up any soil, and it looks like it'll survive getting rained on (but always let it dry before storing it!). There will be some creases, but they are not noticeable at all unless you're too close and looking for them. To reduce creases while stored, I made a storage device out of 4" PVC and some toilet flanges, shown in the pictures. Use some acetone to remove the factory print on the PVC pipe so it doesn't accidentally transfer onto your new screen. The 145" screen can be assembled by one person but it's a bear. Don't do it by yourself if it's windy at all, and forget about moving it by yourself once it's assembled. Even trying to turn it slightly puts a twist on the far aluminum leg unless the floor is slick. The hardest part is snapping the screen to the frame. It needs to be tight, and in cool weather when the material shrinks and isn't as stretchy it can be a finger buster to pull it tight and snap it in. As mentioned earlier, the frame is extruded aluminum with "ferrous alloy" hardware (hinges, clips, etc.). Plain old steel is a ferrous alloy, and I'm seeing a little staining on some of these parts after only a couple weeks of ownership and two days of being outside. No big deal as long as they don't start to straight-up rust. One of the plastic end caps keeps popping out (see pic). I wasn't going to mention it but the same one popped out twice (even after tapping it back into the end of the tube all the way home the first time). The locking mechanisms that hold the folded tubes straight are good quality and easy to work with. Bottom line, I'm happy with the purchase and even with its faults it's still better than a lot of screens on the market. For the 2 nighttime pictures included with this review, I'm using a 3600 lumen projector and the pics were taken back-to-back. The pic where the image appears washed out is from my camera deciding its own settings, but the other one was taken by optimizing camera settings on the movie screen. ... show more
