This area has a lot of rocks in the soil, so I didn't trust that I'd be able to push them in. I bought a "post-hole digging rod" that and used that to pre-create the slot to put the fence in. I used a metal plate to join the sections - the small plastic would not work (my yard slopes, so the tops did not align). It takes about 10 minutes to assemble. working alone. Like the other reviewer, I recommend laying DOWN to put in the vertical parts. I would slide the top and bottom rail onto the vertical supports, screw the top rail, then slide the bottom down a half inch. Far enough from the top so the middle rails could be installed, but close enough so the pickets could be slid a little and rest on both top and bottom simultaneously. Once all the pickets are in place, slide the bottom rail into final position (pickets will move up a little too) and screw. All & all, I'm very pleased with the results. ... show more

This was easy to put together, I did it myself without the hubby's help. :) We installed a pool and the lines are under the side of the yard where we needed a small fence. This worked out great because it doesn't go too far in the ground to mess with the pipes but it is far enough in to stay upright. They are a little flimsy when pushing it in the ground so I was unsure it was going to work but it did. ... show more

    • cheaply made & they will not give you a refund!!
This produce is very cheaply made. We bought 3 of them hoping to keep our dog off the grass. He jumped over it. We never used 2 boxes so we requested a refund. The produce said, 'free refunds'. We never received a refund. We did receive an email from the seller stating that he was sorry I am unhappy and if I would tell him what is wrong with the construction of the fence, he would be happy to help me. The item description said free refunds for any reason. Said you could return for any reason not just construction defects. Yet here I am out $140.00. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY YOU WILL NEVER SEE A REFUND!!! ... show more

    • ANNOYING SCREW TYPE !

Unbelievable that a manufacturer would design a fence and select a screw head that almost no one will have a bit for. Design is similar to many others I have assembled, BUT for some reason this one has screw head that require a SQUARE bit. Not a phillips, not a slotted, not a star, not a hex... no this one requires a SQUARE bit. I have 2 quality rechargeable screwdriver sets. Neither had the tiny square bit required. Instead I had to use a tiny, eyeglass repair size, slotted screw bit wedged into the square. The power required even bent one of the thin slotted bits. I am sure the SQUARE bit exists. BUT no where in the directions does it even say what type and size bit you will need. No, you learn the hard way as you are assembling. Annoying... since for probably $.50 they could have included a cheap version of the bit required! Do I recommend? NO ! Why support a company that knowingly designs a product that most purchasers can not easily assemble. ... show more

I would've given it two stars by losing three stars. First star is mainly because there's no hole to drill in or to help to determine where to drill or which location is proper to drill in. Luckily I was using my measure tape to find the 40 inches, which tells me where to drill in. For the top part, I just assumed that it was 11 inches by how it look with other to make it curve. Second star would be the screws. They're horrible, not sharp, not even sharp enough to make any hole (I was trying over and over and screw kept slipping off) so again, luckily, I have some drywall screws that have sharper point enough to make hole without slipping. While drilling with it, it was quite difficult to drill so I had to push really hard (nearly breaking my drill machine) to successfully drill the screw through. Third star would be because how the instruction lacking the details. Instruction was merely only a page with pictures, very few words to see. It doesn't say where to drill, measurements and so many important information missing in the instruction. However the material is very sturdy and wonderful quality, but not sturdy enough for being hammer on. I would add stakes later. The assembling could've been so much easier, as little as ten minutes only if there's holes to drill in (assemble alone took me 2 hours only because there's no hole to drill). I done whole of assemble inside home without having to go outside, which is nice. Then I add one more star because I am successfully able to get it stand up and looking great outside! Serves its purpose of keeping people from walking thru my yard. I'm a 35 yo female, used a power drill, sometimes you need some force to get the screw in but I managed to put together 4. Yes, it comes in pieces. Totally worth the purchase tho.
