I love, love, love this shaker. It is insulated like the popular drink cups with double stainless type walls. The best thing is that you can shake it and shake it and shake it and your hands don't get cold because of the double walls. Besides that, the top is a measuring cup that's marked off in 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 2 oz, 3 oz, 4 oz, 5 oz and 6 oz if you fill it to the rim. You can mix your drink right inside the top with no need to clean up a separate jigger or measuring cup. You can just rinse it out and empty it so it's super easy to clean. It is great quality and heavy duty metal - not whimpy thin stuff. The lid and the top part of rubber rings to make the seal tight. The first time I used it, I made the mistake of tightening the top too tight and had a bit of trouble with the top sticking and couldn't get it open. I learned that you don't have to tighten it super tight - just lightly hand tighten and it will still seal up properly and not leak. It is plenty big enough to make two good size martinis which is fine for most purposes. I do wish they made a larger size one but I like to entertain and make more than two martinis at a time. This is fine for most everyone I'm sure. It can easily hold 10 oz and ice with plenty of air space for shaking.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this, given the price, and given that I have far more cocktail shakers than I need. But I'm a sucker for stuff that looks incredibly well-engineered, designed, and constructed. And I'm glad I bought it because it is all of those three. Pricey? Sure. But golly, when holding it, I can feel every penny of quality and it just feels... right. This shaker is SOLID, and having a shaker top that screws on so that one need not fear it flying off mid-shake is most wonderful. The screw top is also super handy - no more times of shaking a cocktail and having the cold end up making the top near-impossible to pull off so that one can pour the thing. It's beautiful, it's very thick-walled and insulated, and excellently engineered. Every piece fits together perfectly and it's a joy to hold and feel the quality of it. My only complaint is that it's a bit large - I don't have huge hands, but they're big, and even for me this is just a bit too big around to hold really comfortably. If it were 90% of the size, it would still have plenty of room and be a lot easier to hold and use with one hand. The metal is also incredibly smooth - so even though I can create a pretty tight grip with my friends, I find my skin sliding along the metal a lot when I try to unscrew the top. Partly this is because the screw threads on the base and on the top are so well engineered that they really hold to each other, but also the smoothness of the metal. Between the size and the smoothness, I always shake it with both hands just to make sure that it doesn't slip out of my hand. But being able to shake something and never feel the cold is welcome - if not a bit disorienting at first. The first few uses, I found myself overshaking because I was so used to knowing that a cocktail was ready when the cold was hurting my hand. This will never get cold, so that tactile feedback is no longer an option. The pour hole is great - plenty big enough to let liquid flow without getting blocked with ice. And this is insulated so well that the ice from a cocktail made at suppertime will still be ice at the next morning's breakfast. It's an absolute pleasure to hold and to use. I wish more manufacturers would go back to making items of this quality instead of making stuff that's basically disposable because it'll break in a few years. Or more quickly.

Love this shaker, and I've had a few. Not inexpensive, but well worth it. The screw off top that works very well is worth the price all by itself. The measurements inside the top are more useful than I thought they would be. The shaker fits in your hand better than any I've had, it doesn't get too cold when shaking or sweat, and it's much quieter than a normal shaker.

Purchased this for my husband for Christmas after lots of shopping and review reading. It was very expensive, but I figured it would be worth it as much as we make cocktails (almost daily)....so far he is totally in love with it (doesn't accidentally burst and spray you with your cocktail, has measurements in the lid which we love, is double walled so keeps everything super cold, looks so nice and sleek) and really only has one complaint. It is very shiny and smooth on the outside and this causes it to be a bit slippery in your hands when trying to unscrew the lid to take it apart to clean or add more ingredients. A few times we have gotten really frustrated trying to get the lid off. It needs to have some etching or ridges in it possibly or some way for it to not be so smooth the whole way around so your hands can grip to take off the lid. Other then that he LOVES it! I would still buy it again since it is the best one we have ever tried, but would love to see this design updated in the future.
