It comes completely charged so you can open up your package and you can just start using it right away inside the package. It says that one charge lasts for 45 minutes. I think I was working for more than 45 minutes and still had some charge left. It has three speeds of power and it has suction so it lifts up the little phrase on the couch and sucks them into the chamber and cuts them. it comes in a great box that is great for storage and will be sturdy enough to use probably for years. The media could not be loaded. I was originally going to purchase one of the cheaper $10 fabric shavers I had seen during my search, but came across this Electrolux fabric shaver. I was hesitant because it was basically 3xs the price, but I've usually been someone who generally thinks you get what you pay for with certain things. So I decided to give this one a try. I purchased this to remove some pilling on our pillow cases. It worked great. But then I went and did some pillows on our living room sofa. Man, this thing not only looks great, but works great. It'll get rid of all the pilling on fabrics. I've used it on pillow cases, pillows, and shirts so far. It's done a great job on all of them. The ONLY complaint, is that it can take a while to do because you have to go over everything a few times for it to get everything. Battery life is great. It charges with a USB-C cable. It does take a little while to charge. I can't say how long it'll take to charge from empty to full, because when I got it it was charged around 80% if I remember correctly. I've used it a few times since then. Each time it's been for 5-10 minutes on the highest speed, and it has never dropped below 100%. I don't know if that's accurate since I think it says the battery should last for 45 minutes, but I may be wrong. Either way, it's never died on me and has always worked great. The little container on the handle that catches all the shavings works well, but I will say it can fill up fast if you're not paying attention. Just make sure to check it frequently the first few times you use it and you'll quickly learn how often to check its fullness. When it's full, you just slide it down and empty the shavings in the trash. Overall I've been very happy with this device. I honestly didn't know I'd enjoy doing something like shaving fabric lol. But here we are. Hopefully this thing lasts a long time and I won't regret the purchase as it's been great so far. ... show more

I had a few sweaters that I was going to toss as they were covered with little balls and the Conair ball remover, which is so highly rated, took forever and didn't do a great job. Took a chance and ordered Electrolux as the brand has a good reputation. Best decision as this works so much better! No comparison really. Does a better job and much faster as well. Only thing is, try it first on an older sweater that you really do not care about because if you put too much pressure on the item, even on a flat surface, you may end up with a hole in your sweater (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). Once you figure out that you need to put little to no pressure on the item then it works great - and no more balls or holes! Sweaters. look like new again. So happy! ... show more

This great little lint remover, keeps a great charge, easy to use and helps keep your favorite sweater looking as good as first day of purchase. I found also not putting your good expensive sweaters in the dryer prevents billowing.
