Helps with towels. I have a sensitive nose, and towels or clothes that smell sour or not as clean as they should bother me. This stuff seems to get rid of those smells consistently. I use a high quality concentrated soap, a fabric softener and dryer sheet. Without this, I sometimes still get an unsavory whiff of something on the towel. This gets rid of that. ... show more

    • You dont use 14.9oz to sanitize in a standard wash. You use 6.6oz
The media could not be loaded. It smells fantastic. Im not particularly sensative to chemicals on the skin so i cant comment about that. But i can say that if you are irritated by this. You might be using too much. The bottle says 14.9 fluid ounces as the amount to use in a standard washer. This makes nonsense as the whole gimmick of a the High Efficiency washers is that they use half the product of standard washers. The standard washer measurement to remove odors is 3.3 fluid ounces the HE washer measurement to remove odors is 1.7 fluid ounces. 1.7 is roughly half of 3.3. This is to remove odors. Now, for a HE washer to sanitize, its 3.3 fluid ounces. So wouldnt it then stand to reason that the amount to sanitize in a standard washer be 6.6 or 6.7 fluid ounces? If you order amazon, the bottles come with a measuring cup with a fill line. The fill line is 3.3 ounces. So fill this cup twice to the fill line and you've got your sanitizing power right there. Dont use half the bottle sanitize your laundry. It will cause irritation. Its pretty intuitive to use, two of the provided measure cup to sanitize in a standard washer This worked wonderfully for me. The bottles were secure in the packaging. Should last a long while as i only sanitize my undergarments. Dont really know how versatile it is, its FOR the laundry. I cant quite see it being used anywhere else. I recommend. You dont have to soak the laundry before it does its magic. This is perfect for people who live in apartments. Its also good because our washers arent the best. We need to wash our clothes twice to get them CLEAN. But they still come out stinking. This kills the bacteria that causes the stink. The washer also has, what i think, is a fungal issue that has only gotten worse in the last few months. This clorox sanitizer seems to knock it down considerably. So i HIGHLY recommend this if youbare living in a situation where you have a shared washer. Ill be buying again ... show more

    • Wonderful for gym clothes and even cat urine
We've been really happy with this product since buying it a few months ago. I just repurchased last week. We had previously used Lysol brand, but their instructions had us using more, and we did not care for the scent. We felt the overblown scent masked odors- and sure enough, after a few days, clean, dry items started to smell again in the humidity of the late Spring/early Summer. We first purchased the Clorox Laundry Sanitizer from our supermarket in mid-June, and liked it so much that we purchased this 80 oz. 2-pack from Amazon a week later. It just works so well for us, with sweaty gym clothes, stinky teenager socks that have been sitting in a hamper for a week, and even the occasional cat urine on a bathmat. The scent does not punch you in the face (and is NOT masking lingering odors) so it would be fine with any scent beads or such that one prefers to add to a wash. My son & husband likes Gain scent beads, my daughters and I like Mrs. Meyers lavender... There is NO bleach in this product, so it is safe to use with colors. Assuming this kills germs as well as it claims, I really like Clorox Laundry Sanitizer. It's easy to use, safe for colors, removes odors from gym clothes, & has a light, pleasant scent that doesn't linger (or give the impression that it's just masking odors). My only complaint is that when I bought the 2-pack, there was only one of the measuring lids in the box. This is the larger, white lid that sits securely on top of the screw top that actually closes the bottle. You need it to measure for each load, so I'll have to remember to save it when the first bottle is empty. If you are planning to use the 2 bottles at separate locations, as I was, that won't work, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. ... show more

At first I thought this was just another gimmicky low-use product, but after going through the first bottle, I'm a convert. It definitely helps with mildew-prone or smelly items like cleaning rags and bath towels, and even helps keep my lawn-work clothes under control.
