No weird smells on opening and the tailoring was high quality. I wash everything before use; it held up well to machine washing with no change in colour as well as in the dryer. The waffle pattern is very appealing and comfortable agains the skin and I've worn it everyday since then. 5 stars for warmth and comfort.
