We have Dutch lap metal panels on the exterior of the house, and the wedge in this builders edge was the perfect solution!     • Nice flag mount. Make sure you know what your siding type is called
Purchased this mount for our flag. Honestly - does everyone know what type of siding is on their home?? Dutch lap etc?? Because we felt lost when trying to purchase this .. like uneducated as a homeowners ...the siding came with the house we didn't pick it! so we took a guess after google searching siding types and getting frustrated. Figured well-it was advertised as free returns so worst case scenario it doesn't fit and we have to swap it out. It took a few weeks to arrive and then... I didn't fit. Went to return it and the seller charged 4.15 for the return label and a 15% restocking fee. Which was not advertised on buying and cost almost half the item!! Amazon did wind up returning the " fees" to us but what a headache. Really the seller needs to add measurements to their product page so " uneducated" siding people can just go out and measure the width and get it right. Won't be buying here again..simple product big hassle. ... show more

    • FIts my house vinyl siding but not my sheds.
I bought this to put on my shed but unfortunately it doesn't fit so I'll be looking for a different type of block. This fits my house perfectly though so I'm keeping it to maybe put up a solar camera down the road.

    • Fits 4” Dutch Lap perfectly?
I will never take apart siding again to install a light fixture. This fits 4” Dutch lap siding perfectly. I went to both Home Depot and Lowe’s and they only had plygem brand for straight lap siding, not Dutch lap. I’m sure if I looked around enough someone carries this mounting block for Dutch lap, but that would be a waste of time and money when you can just click, order and return if necessary, that’s the beauty of Amazon! ... show more

    • Perfect for mounting outdoor cameras to vinyl siding!
This turned out to be the perfect solution to mount some outdoor cameras on my vinyl siding. The blocks were easy to install over my existing siding using just two screws. The material was durable enough to mount the cameras directly to them with the existing installation screws for the cameras. It looks as if the house was built with the cameras installed by the builder. I love these! ... show more

    • You CAN'T Paint this!!!
This product comes in white which is probably the most accepted color that someone might use straight out of the box. But most people don't have white siding and probably want to color match the vinyl color they currently have.. Its plastic and common sense says that you would be able to paint this to match your house since its the only one they sell here. While I can paint vinyl siding, and thousands of other plastics, they decided to make this out of a plastic that YOU CAN'T PAINT! That would be OK if they at least mentioned that in the description before you purchase it. But they didn't. I don't know which bright genius at the company thought that it would be a good idea to make a product that people would want to color match out of a material that can't be painted. BTW, I used both an oil and latex paint designed for plastics and neither adheres (yes, it was properly prepped). ... show more
