This was definitely one of the most expensive shelving units (for shelves that are not foldable ) and you have to remember that if you put the wheels on like I do that it holds a lot less weight. I think it said it’s coded with something to help with rusting because it’s in a mostly enclosed carport/garage so I decided to try this brand. In my closet I have the same size from the Amazon basics and when I push down on the wire shelves the Amazon one is actually a little bit stronger and less expensive. I have purchased two different size Amazon shells with wheels before, and very good quality as well. I was able to find this one listed under part of the name and not the full name (where the price increase significantly since I put it in my cart to when I purchased ) It’s usually advertised under a longer name so I knew from the listing it was the same shelves. This was back to the price of not long ago of $99. Next time I would buy the Amazon basics again and save $30-$60. ... show more

Product was delivered as scheduled and the box had just one "ding" but the product itself was undamaged. I didn't have any problems with the assembly, working by myself. Time to assemble was interrupted by having to do other house chores. Absolute total time was about an hour. For those complaining about lack of directions or extra pieces in the packaging, let me offer an insight to those concerns. The little round rings that had people confused are supposed to be between the shelves for protection against scratches, they have no other use. Throw them away. The little railings go on the bottom of the shelf. That puts the shelf in the proper orientation for compressing the plastic pieces that go on each upright. First, unpack everything and make sure nothing is dented, warped, or missing. Second, decide how high you want the BOTTOM shelf to go. Don't add the upper rod to the lower just yet. Screw the levelers into each upright with the small threaded hole. The plastic corner pieces have "Top" molded in, so just make sure that is up. The plastic pieces are all the same and have a little raised arc on the inside. Put one where you want the shelf to go and make sure the arc engages the ring in the upright. With one plastic piece in place, try to slide that ONE piece up or down, and if you didn't catch the ring just right, it will move slightly then snap into place. Put the other plastic piece opposite and it should snap into place. Do this with the other three uprights and slide the shelf (noting the railing) onto the four uprights. You don't need two people to assemble the unit, just go slowly and don't hurry the process. Don't beat on the shelf with a metal hammer, you'll just mess up the finish on the shelf. I just gave the shelf a medium whack downward with the heel of my hand instead. When the shelf is properly seated, the plastic pieces with be close to flush with the shelf. Go to the next shelf and repeat the process. It may or may not be the time to add the upper upright, depending where the next shelf fits vertically. (There are double rings about every five inches on the uprights, I figure they're there for positioning the shelves.) With the rest of the shelves in place, try wiggling the whole unit while pushing down on each corner of each shelf. If the corners are not fully seated, this should take care of the problem. This would be the time to add the shelf liners to each shelf. Put the unit in place before putting anything on the shelves. Heavy weight to the bottom, lighter items as you go up. Stand back and admire your work, but don't strain your shoulder by patting yourself on the back. :^) ... show more

The instructions don't mention this, but I think it is helpful to know: The black plastic clips have a slight raised line on the interior of the clip that aligns with each engraved ring level on the metal poles. The clips join together and somewhat "snap" into place when the raised clip ring is just in the right position to align with the pole rings. To remove and readjust the clips, just hold one clip with your forefinger and pointer finger, and pull away from the pole. The clip (1 half side) should easily come off and away from its second half. Everything fits together snugly and doesn't move once assembled. The shelves installed perfectly level. The castor wheels rolled smoothly against my vinyl tile floor, and everything (with exception to the use of plastic clips) seemed of good quality material. You receive 1 extra bag of plastic clips, should any of the originals fail. Packaging of the product was very sturdy and well thought out. ... show more

I have purchased many of these types of metal shelving in the past. First off, I have to complement the care they took in packaging the product. It came, fully intact, properly secured, with no damage to the box…and more importantly, the product inside. With other companies, I had to return the product many time due to various damages. Assembly was a breeze as all the parts fit in nicely - screws turned nicely, clips easily snapped into place, shelf slid perfectly into the clips. The plastic shelf liner was the best icing on the cake. Can’t believe they came with this unit for free…I was looking at these liners for my other shelves and they cost a fortune!! Overall, very satisfied with this unit and will definitely consider getting another when I need it. ... show more

The poles are pretty weighty, well-made, feet thread easily. Easy to assemble. Not sure the shelves are strong enough to hold the 1000 LB (total) weight capacity, but plenty good for my needs.
