iPhone 12 Pro Max Battery and tool kit 5600mAh. I replaced this battery for the first time in this phone. The original battery health was at 72% when I replaced. It’s a notable difference in capacity and use time. I’ve done a few of these batteries in older iPhones; SE gen 1, SE Gen 2, X but this is a tougher swap. A strait edge razor blade is needed to separate the glass. The kit came with everything needed. Also included was a screw mat that I’d not had in other battery “kits” and it was helpful. The phone gives the “Not Genuine Part” at start-up and the heath data is supposedly inaccurate. What I know is that I used to use 300-400% of capacity a day, now it’s closer to 100%. You have to solder on a used (or new Apple) battery control module to avoid the above. Delivered the next day. Less than $20 for a phone refresh was worth it. I don’t believe Wouldn’t recommend to beginners.

This kit is awesome! I have replaced a lot of parts on iPads and iPhones… Typically, I get the replacement part, maybe some tools, maybe a brief set of instructions but usually I go onto YouTube to find detailed replacement instructions But this thing came with a whole booklet of instructions, the English isn’t perfect, but basically they give you enough information that you don’t even need to watch a video. They have the screwdrivers numbered and they tell you exactly which screwdriver to use to replace each screw (the screws are so tiny, and some are Phillips and some are triwing, so it’s important that you use the right screwdrivers)… They have a whole diagram with everything labeled. Of course I’ve done this before so I don’t really need all that information but for somebody who is new, this information could be invaluable! As for the battery itself so far, it seems to be working great so I have no complaints.

Installed in my wife's phone. Comes with a complete tool kit, but the instructions seemed to reference another phone model (not the iphone X). Make sure you cross reference with several good YouTube videos. My wife's phone would be dead by morning, and I was hoping this battery would restore its performance. Well, now if the phone is at 100% charge when she turns in, it will be at 50% by morning. Not exactly the performance I was expecting. I have replaced many phone and Ipad batteries and this has been the weakest replacement battery by far. Quite disappointed. I was hoping all these different batteries were all the same so I gambled by buying the cheapest one. I lost. Buy one of the more expensive units that cost $25-$30.

This is a review based on semi-speculation. I ended up breaking something so I can’t fully test the phone. It boots, but I might have killed the screen or something. User error. Anyways, it was pretty simple to install the battery, but like other batteries I’ve tried, you need to manually adjust the ribbon cable as it’s too low. Annoying, but doable. I had my own tools but I did try theirs. They are functional. That’s about all. I have seen better “cheap” tools that are included. But they work. It includes a little mat to place your screws and it’s fine. I have seen similar mats in other kits but those were still wrapped in a plastic film unlike the one I got. The adhesive was simple to install. You just have to rub it on to the surface with more force than expected. Otherwise it will lift when pulling the second film. It was quite forgiving with the first layer and trying to get it right. I did struggle a little to open it back up after seeing it wasn’t working, but it wasn’t as strong as the previous adhesive. Possibly because it had yet to fully “cure”. But it’s fine considering once you open the phone, waterproofing is basically gone. As for the instruction manual it came with. It was quite detailed. Better than other kits. Still, you had to read quite a bit compared to to the images it showed. Not made for those who don’t read instructions and just glance at them. But should you read it, you’ll get it. The battery came with the adhesive on so you didn’t need to apply it on the battery like others. They either do this on purpose or I got a used one and never even noticed 🤪. Like I said I can’t test anymore apart from my installation experience. 8/10. Not the best feeling tools, and the screw holder not having the film lowered it. (That made it a 9/10) The adjusting the ribbon cable made it an 8/10. If you’re not careful you could break something there. (The phone has power as I can hear and feel it do stuff so I know I didn’t broke that.) The packaging though, was definitely better than most. It all felt and looked quite secured. I did end up pulling it out upside down and dropped some stuff. But that was user error. Though it could have been prevented with a little tape. (It was a pull out the box holding the stuff from the sleeve keeping the box closed type of package. I didn’t noticed the indication of how it opens).

Would buy again for sure, value for its price. Phone was initially below 80%, and now it lasts the entire day without having to charge mid-day. Recommend following ifixit guide and a couple youtube videos(pro-tip: be very careful with the flex cables(black cables) when unplugging things). After a week of usage and checking the analytic logs, the nominal battery capacity is at 3745 mAh which is around 101%-103% above the normal apple battery which is usually around 3687 mAh- most likely not double the capacity as marketed. Nonetheless, happy with the product and would buy again for doing its job.
