One might ask why read a book from Canon about their lenses? Well, if you have a serious investment in Canon lenses, this book actually has a lot of both fascinating and helpful information about them. It covers the history of Canon cameras and lenses, what they strive for when they design the lenses, a 1-2 page summary of each lens and how it is designed, how some of the technology such as Image Stabilization works, as well as some other good technology background on lens design. This book has very detailed information of Canon lenses. It has pictures and details of how what lenses are needed to get that good picture. This book is for the beginner or the advanced photographer. Wonder references and gorgeous pictures. This book will not disappoint.

This is the authority about Canon EF and EFS lenses. I learned so much and so joyful reading the book to use my Canon lenses, including L series. I highly recommend the book.

    • This is a worthy purchase for any L lens owner
I too have invested heavily in Canon's "L" lenses. This book was a gift, and I read it cover to cover. I look at it as a lens bible of sorts. The detailed information contained within serves as a resource when I'm looking to add to my cadre of lenses, and also the technical information this manual contains is VERY important to me, as I am privvy to a lot of info about the canon lens system. While I have the manual that came WITH each of my lenses, this publication is more like the family history of Canon lenses, providing detailed information about them, specs, and technical information about the production of the Canon lens systems overall.
