  • EcoFlow Delta 3 Plus: The Solar-Ready UPS That’s So Good You’ll Wish You Could Give It Six Stars
Style: DELTA 3 Plus
The EcoFlow Delta 3 Plus is, without exaggeration, one of those rare devices you wish you could rate six stars just to properly communicate how absurdly good it is. Most portable power stations feel like compromises—good at some things, mediocre at others, never quite earning total trust. The Delta 3 Plus is the opposite: it behaves like a fully grown UPS, a renewable energy appliance, and a field-grade generator all sharing the same chassis. And thanks to its 10ms switchover, it keeps networking racks online so smoothly you’ll have to check the logs to confirm the power even flickered. For small business racks, lab gear, or home network cores, it simply doesn’t flinch. That would already be enough to recommend it, but then EcoFlow wandered into “hold my beer” territory and added dual MPPT inputs that accept up to 1000W of solar. Actual, full-size house panels plug into this thing like it’s a pint-sized powerwall, and the result is borderline magical. You can run a firewall, switch, modem, controller, and accessories for 8+ hours straight… and then watch the Delta 3 Plus refill itself on solar faster than many UPS units recharge from AC. For anyone trying to build a cost-efficient hybrid UPS solution—or just wanting peace of mind without buying enterprise battery cabinets—this is the most practical and overachieving option available. The versatility is what seals its legendary status. In the rack, it’s a clean, quiet, LFP-based protector that outperforms most UPS units on stability and lifespan. On the job site, it runs tools, testers, laptops, APs, or anything you’d normally plug into a generator—minus the noise, fumes, or neighbors glaring at you. And once work is over, it becomes the ultimate camping battery, perfectly happy to run lights, induction cookers, or even a full-size microwave because yes, someone will try it. Fast charging makes it almost unfair, thermal control is dialed-in, and the whole device feels like it was engineered by people who decided portable power should be fun, not stressful. What makes the Delta 3 Plus such a “must own” device is how it quietly replaces multiple categories of equipment. It’s a UPS that lasts longer. A solar generator that charges faster. A portable battery that behaves like a home backup unit. A field tool that simply refuses to fail when everything else is having a bad day. It’s the one power solution that makes you immediately wonder how you ever worked—or camped—without it. If there’s a higher tier than “highly recommended,” this belongs in it. ⸻ Pros • 10ms switchover rivaling high-end UPS units • Two MPPT solar inputs supporting 1000W—works with house panels • LFP battery = safe, long-lived, cool-running chemistry • Powers a full SMB rack for 8+ hours with ease • Fast charging, quiet operation, incredibly stable inverter • Equally brilliant for racks, field work, camping, and off-grid setups • Feels like multiple devices replaced by one overachiever Cons • Heavy—portable power still means “you’re carrying power” • Overkill for anything smaller than a full rack or campsite • EcoFlow’s app occasionally wants to be the star of the show • You will absolutely end up wanting two ... show more

  • Not my first rodeo, but I like this horse!
Style: DELTA 3 Plus
I've been working with solar and (solar) power stations for many years. From my homebrew whole house, to a number of portable models from different manufacturers. I've been a Bluetti guy for quite a bit of that time. They have been, and remain very good. This is my first Ecoflow. I LOVE this thing right out of the box. The features and app integration are outstanding. From the ability to control charge rates, to being able to control how much you top off and how low you deplete the battery(ies). I'm blown away. This has features not found on the bigger, super high end units out there. I've already ordered the extra 1 kwh battery and will probably pair it all up with the Smart Gen 3. Pros: Storm Guard (Warns you within 12 hrs of when bad weather might effect grid power so you can top up) Charge Rate Control Total charge control Depletion control Relatively light weigh Water and dust resistant (camping, outdoor use) Very good inverter efficiency, AC and DC (power being drawn) Outlet placement FAST charging, from grid and from solar QUIET. I mean amazingly QUIET. Ability to schedule tasks such and charging Ability to setup grid charging when electric rates are lowest. (The app interfaces with your power company for the info automatically) Makes my bed first thing in the morning without me asking. (Ok, maybe not that.) Cons: Only one, and hope it might be addressed in a firmware update. AC Idle/Phantom load is pretty ugly for this size unit. The DC is excellent, its only the AC side. But with the large inverter capacity for AC, it comes with the territory. My AC200MAX is not as efficient and the phantom load is about the same. I would whole heartedly recommend the Delta Pro 3. It will be going camping with me in the cold of January this year for sure. Oh, and shipping was super fast. ... show more

  • Compact, light, powerful, affordable
Style: DELTA 3 Plus
For several years I’ve been looking for a power station such as this. I’ve always been put off by the weight and price of most brands. That is until I saw this Ecoflow advertised on Facebook. (It’s amazing how many ads start popping up in your feed once you do a search for a product.) At just 27 pounds and reasonably priced this EF Ecoflow Delta 3 Plus is perfect. I plugged it into a wall outlet and it powered on automatically, then went from a 21% charge to 100% in about 75 minutes. Then I turned its AC power button and tested it by plugging in a space heater. It ran the heater on high with no problems. It also charged my phone in two ways: By plugging the cord into the USB port, and by plugging the adapter into an AC outlet. The display is very nice as well. On the left it shows how much power is being drawn in while charging, and on the right it shows how much power is being used, while the center shows the percentage charge remaining. I feel I’m ready for the next power outage in my house and that I’ll be able to use this power station to run my refrigerator and kitchen TV instead of just fretting about when the power will be restored. Update: I used this product during a power outage and it ran my refrigerator for 2.5 hours with no problems, reducing the charge from 100% to 82%. At this rate, it could power my fridge for 12.5 hours while reducing the charge from 100% to 10% (better than advertised!) ... show more

  • Much more than just a battery backup!
Style: DELTA 3 Plus
The ecoflow Delta 3 plus is a game changer for me; it is much more than just a stand alone battery backup. A few years back I got into the battery backup game by purchasing some Jackery power stations and also several Vtoman that first got me into the LiFeP04 batteries. These typically sit around doing nothing except waiting for a power outage which is typically no more than 10 hours a year from La DWP but with CA politics I'm anticipating more outages. I have since moved to ecoflow products with their intelligent software which allows me both the backup capability but also just as importantly they can be used as a buffer for solar power to save money by harvesting solar energy. So far I'm just experimenting but I am quite pleased with the results. I've had several UPS battery backups from cyberpower but they use lead acid batteries which after a few years begin to die and never give me more than 5 or 10 minutes of backup anyway but now with the ecoflow I get hours of backup and a UPS as well. I have four areas of concern: my computer equipment and routers as area 1, my refrigerators area 2, my home theater area 3, and my security cameras in area 4. Each is now protected by battery backup. the Jackery and Vtoman use manual switch over for the 2 refrigerators and my home theater while Ecoflow now protects all my computer equipment and internet along with my security cameras system. For the security cameras I have an ecoflow River 3 plus because it switches over automatically and the computers and routers are on the Delta 3 plus also switching over automatically to battery when necessary. But here's the difference the Delta 3 plus also serves as an automatic savings mode and there's where it shines above all my other power stations and possibly all others in its price range by other manufacturers. One can partition the battery capacity into two uses the standard battery backup but also a solar power battery buffer. The partitioning can be set using the app and I've currently set it to 50% for battery backup and 50% for buffering and here's how it works: In the morning before the sun comes up the battery will be at 50% with the AC power from the grid being used to power my computer equipment and the routers in UPS mode. I have four 100 watt solar panels wired in 2p2s configuration so the that the two pairs in series produce 40 volts and these 2 pairs are wired in parallel so that under best conditions produce about 400 watts. The 60 volt input on the solar is perfect for this. My other power-stations can only accept 12-30 and so will not work with this setup. The computer equipment (desktop, switches, routers, wifi, fiber ONT, 3 monitors, lamp etc.) typically use between 130 and 250 Watts. My solar panels are ground-based and are in the shade until about 8:00 a.m. and then they begin to produce power until sometime after 2:00 p.m. when again in the shade but that's because this is December and I expect much better results in the the other seasons. But they quickly begin to generate more power than I'm using and so the second 50% of the delta 3 plus capacity is used to store up the excess solar coming in. As soon as I've used about 5% of this capacity to store solar power the Delta 3 plus shuts off the grid power and starts powering from its battery on output with solar coming in on input. This continues throughout the day until my panels are once again in the shade but by then the battery will be nearly at 100% full (which is why I set it to 50% for buffering) and it will then continue to power my computers from battery until the capacity is back down to 50% at which time it will turn the grid power back on. So, the computers remain off-grid for an extra 2 hours after solar production is done. It does this all automatically and ends up typically saving me 1-2 kwh of power each day. I'm on a fixed rate plan with two tiers and the second tier is about 28 cents a kilowatt hour so during a month I can expect perhaps $12 to $15 in savings on my electric bill and these are using December numbers. This means that in one year the Ecoflow plus solar panels will have paid for the 4 solar panels which cost me $200. BTW, if you're on a plan that charges more at peak, they have a separate mode that works with that plan. Of course I can install a second set of panels and a third set if I have room in my backyard but then I would need extra battery buffering for the Delta 3 plus which could be done by using the expansion port and an expansion battery. Since the plus comes with two independent 500 watt solar inputs I currently am using the second one along with a $163 12-volt Li-time 100 amp hour battery with a 12 to 24v DC to DC converter for an extra 1.25kwh backup battery although I can't have it switched in and charged automatically. This was just an experiment based on a YouTube video describing the technique - by up-loader "the old jarhead". So the bottom line is I am very pleased with the results and one other thing: I have never yet heard the fan although I know it's on so I think Eco flow has definitely hit this one out of the park. It really is a wonderfully engineered product and well worth the $650 price range I paid for it. ... show more

A bit heavier than I thought, but it came in handy through our windstorm last night. I charged it last week and it was done shortly. Although I haven't needed to use most of it's features, it helped keep a small child happy. Plugged in the internet and TV and it worked like a charm. • The perfect power station? The perfect power station?
Style: DELTA 3 Plus
The D3+ I think it's finally the perfect balance between portability and functionality. I have quite a few power stations from a few different companies but this is definitely my latest and favorite. 1kWh of storage. 1kW of solar. Expandable to 5kWh. 15A AC output. 4k cycles to 80% DoD LiFePO4. True UPS. Silent and under 30lbs. This is my new perfect camping buddy. Boondocking at the beach in the RV but it's like having shore power. Everything but the air conditioner runs just fine off of this and with two huge solar inputs, I can recharge it from dead in a little over 1 hour from the sun. It even does simultaneous input so if the sun starts setting and I didn't charge it enough I can kick the gas generator on for a bit while both AC and DC flow to top it off before sunset and quiet hours. Lots of new app features and with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth I have no issues being able to use all the smart features. With the exception of adding a high amp DC output I don't know how this could possibly be improved upon. Cosmetically it looks great too. ... show more
