  • Wear gloves when assembling
Size: Dome
My 3-yo loves this as he’s been climbing on things he shouldn’t. It’s a perfect height for him where he could still hang on the bars but we’re not worried about him falling and hurting himself. Assembly is more laborious than difficult, and the instructions are not the best but ok to follow. Allow yourself more time than you think - it took me over an hour and I like assembling things. Do yourself a favor and start with protective gloves - this should really be in the instructions. Fitting the tubes together is really harsh on your hands but after I put on gloves it made a huge difference. Still ended up with some bruises on fingers from before I did. But the end result and the happy kiddo makes it all worth it. ... show more

  • Easy to move and our littles LOVE it.
Size: Dome
This climber is a winner! Yes, it takes a little time and paying close attention to the directions but it’s been very worth it. We had to take sections of it apart to redo it and I wish we would’ve noticed the disassembly tool before hassling with taking it apart but we did it and everything was fine. Our kids are 3 and 5 and this climber has been wonderful for their development. They climb, hang, swing, jump, lay all over it having fun while they’re building their physical ability and bodily awareness. We didn’t want a structure that was difficult to mow around or move to mow and this is so light weight our kids lift it and move it together. Yet it’s very sturdy! We love this and highly recommend it! ... show more

  • A great addition to our active playroom
Size: Dome
As parents, we decided that we didn't want little mindless zombies for children - glued to a video game - drooling - psychotically angry when said video game gets taken away due to lack of the child functioning as a living person... So, we've focused our Christmas/birthday purchases on things that they can be physically active with. After looking at multiple dome-shaped climbers, we went with this one and we're happy we did. For starters, the whole thing is pretty easy to set up. You get a big box of tubes and connectors with some instructions. The instruction booklet is laid out weird so I just tossed aside several of the pages until I found the assembly diagram - All of the connectors and tubes are labeled so you know exactly what tube goes where. Once you get the base tube sections assembled, it's pretty intuitive from there. The instructions guide you through assembling the climber in chunks, then connecting those chunks to make the whole thing. I was worried that the climber would have some flex to it when fully assembled but by the time I was down to the last tube put on, I could tell that that wouldn't be an issue - I had to pull the opening where the tube went apart with a bit of force to get the thing in place. Ingeniously, they put some thought into it when they built these things so that the end of the connector that slides into the tube is angled so you can pop it on without too much effort. The connectors look like purple starfish - some with 6 points, some with 5, and a weird angled one with 4 for the top "tower" thing. All of the tubes are held in place by "pins" or little metal buttons that are on metal flanges on the connectors (like the little button that pops into place to connect the metal extension tubes together on your vacuum). There's 2 of these buttons per connector-end (starfish leg?), one on top and one underneath. Some of these are pretty stiff on the 5-point and 6-point connectors which were a pain in the buttocks to push down so the tube would pass over it and click into place. Because of the stiffness of the buttons, I got my finger pinched between the tube and the connector when it suddenly popped into place. I tried wearing gloves but it was more annoying than helpful. About 3/4 of the way through I realized it worked best to rotate the tube 45 degrees so that when you slide the tube onto the connector, the pins/buttons don't pop through the holes until you twist the tube back into alignment (hopefully that made sense...) so basically, you slide the tube on with the holes not lined up with the buttons so that the tube doesn't just lock into place unexpectedly, taking your tender finger flesh with it. Once I figured this out, I was a lot less hesitant when sliding these things together as I didn't have to worry about getting bitten again. Because the buttons are on the top and bottom of each connector end, they include a little cuff-like device that's supposed to fit over the tube and, once aligned, you can squeeze it to depress the buttons and slide/disconnect the tube from the connector. I haven't tried this yet but hopefully it works - with those buttons being as stiff as they are, I may be leaving the thing assembled permanently if it doesn't. When looking around at other options, we took our kids to an outdoor equipment store and let them climb on everything. Though made of metal, the bigger domes had too large of a space between the bars to where our kids could't climb to the top - this one is the perfect size for our kids right now and I can tell by the quality that it will last our kids for several years. PROS: - heavy-duty plastic components - easy assembly (aside from the stiff buttons) - All pieces are labeled so you know what goes where - easy to follow assembly diagram - great size for smaller kids - probably about 3 to 8-ish depending on how big they are - and even bigger kids can still have fun climbing under it as a "fort". CONS: -Pins/buttons on the connectors can be stiff and hard to push down to get the tubes on -Stiff pins/buttons can lead to pinched fingers and subsequent swearing around children during assembly - The labels on the tubes are just stickers so if you have a destructive or OCD child, the stickers will be gone instantly and you won't know what tube is what when you take it apart unless you sort the tubes by length. This thing was a hit with my kids at Christmas this year - they love climbing on it and throwing blankets over the top to make a fort. It's big enough that my 45" tall 5 year old can climb on it but small enough that it fits in our "family room" (aka kids playroom) downstairs. My only recommendation, if the Easy Peasey people ever come across this, is to have a little bump (flare? channel?) in the end of the tubes (just like on a vacuum extension tube) so that if you line up that bump with the button, the tube can slide right over the pins/buttons on the connectors without actually having to press the buttons down with your fingers to get the tube on. ... show more

  • GREAT in our basement for our autistic 4 year old!! READ THIS BEFORE ASSEMBLY!!
Size: Dome
I bought this as a birthday gift for my autistic 4 year old son and so far it's a hit! This is a very sturdy and well made jungle gym that can hold up to 150 pounds. I climb on it with my son because he wants me to (I'm 5'7" 130lb) and it seems to support me just fine. We have it set up in a basement playroom but it's labeled as being an outdoor jungle gym so I think it would do well in the backyard also. We just live in a very cold and snowy climate so I wanted to put it inside so my energetic kiddo could get some energy out during the long winters indoors. Besides being sturdy and well made, it offers a lot of variety for play. Besides just climbing on it and dropping down through the middle, he loves to throw a couple big blankets over the top and turn the whole thing in to a fort. We call it his igloo. It's big and sturdy enough that multiple kids could play on it at a time. All that being said, setting up is a bit of a pain (literally just as much as figuratively). I do not swear and I cursed multiple times while setting this up by myself. Here's what you need to know: - DO NOT JUST USE YOUR FINGERS!! Setting this up will kill your hands even if you use tools to help like I did so do yourself a favor and START with them. I found a flat head screwdriver to be the most helpful in pushing the little knobs in. Some of the connectors are harder than others so some of them you can just use your fingers but some of them are just too stiff. Just count on getting pinched a few times, even if you're using tools to help. I was very careful and it still got me a handful of times and it HURTS! Prepare yourself mentally, haha. - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY!! The set up instructions for this are great. There are pictures diagrams and detailed written instructions and all the parts are labeled very well so you can keep track of what is what. My best suggestion is to BE SURE you're reading ALL the instructions before you snap stuff into place because it's really annoying to have to undo your work and start over. After the first 45 minutes or so I thought I was smart and knew what to do and ended up having to go back multiple times and undo a lot of work and finger pinching because I didn't read the instructions. This is especially true when it comes to laying out the bottom octagon correctly and then attaching the sides with THIS ANGLE UP point up. I missed that direction and had to re-do a lot. Don't be like me. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! - The metal pieces inside the connects that you snap into place pop out all the time during set up. This is very annoying. The first time it happens you'll think, "Oh crap, how the heck am I supposed to get that back in?!" but don't worry, it isn't hard. After a few times you'll be a pro at it and will be able to get it back into place quickly and easily with a flat head screwdriver. That being said, it's REALLY ANNOYING that they pop out at all. Design flaw. - This thing is pretty big so if you're going to set it up inside, definitely measure first! I also recommend putting this in a room with at least 8 foot ceilings. - I set this up alone, but I highly recommend doing it with at least 1 other person. It would go a LOT faster and some of the attachments would be much easier to make with two people. All said and done it took me about an hour and 45 minutes to set up by myself. Had I not messed up twice and had to undo and redo my work, it probably would've only taken me an hour. If I'd had help it probably would've only taken 30-45 minutes. Now that it's set up I'm really pleased with it! The only reason I took off a star is because I think they could've made this a little less painful to put together by designing and including a special tool to help with assembly and also because those little metal pieces pop out all the time during set up and have to be put back into place. Other than that, once it's set up it's great! I highly recommend this for autistic kids! Between this, a mini trampoline and a slide and ceiling mounted swing in our playroom downstairs, our son really has fun and can get a lot of his energy out and meet his intense sensory needs. For the record I did NOT get this for free or at a discount. Hope this helps! ... show more
