  • Fun game for the whole family!
We just got this yesterday and we can’t stop playing it! Both my kids (ages 8 and 10) and myself have been taking turns playing it non stop! It is SO fun! Wheel of fortune was one of my favorite game shows to watch growing up so when I saw this game I knew I had to buy it! It has all of the sound effects from the show and besides having Vanna white there, it feels like you are playing in the actual show! I love that it is a handheld game so we can take it with us in the car, plane etc. It has two modes but we have just played the classic one so far. This game is perfect for the whole family! ... show more

  • Probably aimed at the younger, or maybe much older, audience
This is a pretty cool toy with a fair bit of interaction and a few minor disappointments. The disappointments first: the screen is really very dim, even with brand new namebrand batteries you kind of have to hold it at an angle to read it clearly, and the screen has visible difficulty maintaining itself when it plays sound and lights. Also, the $1,000,000 panel doesn't do anything, it doesn't have a light and you can't land on it. Now the reason I say it is probably aimed at a younger or exceptionally older audience is the offered puzzles are VERY low level difficulty, there's nothing obscure or super interesting here, we're talking solutions like "German Shepherd" "Eye in the Sky" and "Atlanta Georgia", this isn't going to be expecting you to know things like "Republic of Maldives" or "Norwegian Lundehund". It offers two game modes, a standard mode where you spin, pick a letter and repeat until you can solve it. You can buy vowels (marked with red buttons), check your current score and what letters you've used, however you cannot check the category if you missed or forgot it. The other game mode just adds letters one at a time until you can try and guess it. The device flashes lights when it spins the wheel across the top (it doesn't actually spin a light just rolls from spot to spot) and it calls out nearly everything it does vocally. Solving puzzles that only have vowels left has been consistently funny as the host calls out "EE! EE! OH! EE! YOU!" Dunno what I'm doing to him or if he likes it or not... It lets you play 4 or 5 puzzles before it resets your score, which is a bit disappointing, would've been fun to run that number up higher and higher. Changing modes or turning it off resets your score completely. It also scores with preference for solving early, if you pick all the consonants then solve for the vowels, you'll get much less than if you solve it as soon as you figure it out with an apparent maximum of $10,000 per round, usually $5000 or less if you pick all the consonants before solving. Overall it's a neat toy though, it's awkwardly big and bulky for its little dim screen though, and with only 300 total puzzles and such low difficulty even after solving 30 or 40 of them, it probably won't keep the hardcore trivia fan occupied as well as the casual. Has an audio button to switch in order between high volume, low volume and muted. ... show more

  • Educational Insights Wheel of Fortune game
I’ve been playing this and I have been enjoying it (as an adult). It reminds me of playing handheld electronic poker games in the car on long car trips back in the day. It’s interesting enough to keep me amused for 2-5 games or so, without getting stuck on the couch staring at a screen for the rest of the evening. When my kids have a lot of homework sometimes we use a timer and take breaks, this would be good for that. I’m not crazy about the voice, I turn the volume down because the guy is loud and yell-y. The solve button is used to select, so sometimes I press “solve” and get stuck trying to solve a puzzle without any letters in it. The screen doesn’t show you the letters you’ve picked already but the game does remember, and will tell you without a penalty. It would be a lot better if the spin button was a lever you’d push a little bit instead just a button. I think that would have added a lot to the experience. Overall, it’s fine and it’s amusing enough. The puzzles aren’t too hard but they’re challenging enough to make me feel like I accomplished something when I figure it out. ... show more

  • DOA
Mine didn't work- I put in new batteries and would not turn on. Returning it and will reorder and try it one more time. UPDATE- Product is crap. It's a shame because it looks like it could be fun. Ordered it for a second time. Inserted brand new batteries and same result- it doesn't turn on. That's it - return and give up. ... show more

  • A Fun Gift for Any Wheel of Fortune Fan
This handheld Wheel of Fortune game is going to be a fantastic birthday gift for my older brother, who is a huge fan of the show. With its authentic sounds and phrases, it does a great job of capturing the feel of the real game, and I know he’ll love spinning the virtual wheel and solving puzzles. The device includes 300 puzzles across categories like “Phrases” and “What Are You Doing?” which adds plenty of variety and keeps the gameplay fresh. The two modes—Classic and Toss Up—offer different ways to play, whether you want a more relaxed game or something quicker and competitive. The portability is a big plus too. It’s small enough to toss in a bag, making it ideal for road trips or simply killing time during the day. One feature that really stood out to me is the option to mute the sound. While the game show effects are fun, the ability to play quietly makes it much more versatile. This also means it’s great for both solo players and small group games where you can take turns guessing letters. The game requires three AAA batteries, which aren’t included, so I’ll make sure to include those when I wrap it up. Overall, it’s a great mix of entertainment and nostalgia, perfect for someone who loves Wheel of Fortune or enjoys word games in general. I’m sure my brother will have hours of fun with this, whether he’s playing alone or showing it off to friends and family. It’s a thoughtful and unique gift that celebrates his favorite show while offering an engaging, brain-teasing experience. ... show more
