  • It is age appropriate
This is a cute idea. My grandson worked it through quite quickly--less than 2 weeks. It really may be reusable, but not immediately. The answers are clear and the dots work.

  • Faulty and inconsistent. Daughter disappointed.
Good concept, BUT(and this is a big BUT) my daughter was left feeling disappointed and "stupid" as she puts it, because one just set 1 of the cards, by the time we got to letter "U", it had told her she was incorrect 9 times, when she was actually right. I'm very angry and disappointed. I don't like seeing my daughter call herself stupid when the product is the problem, and she actually had gotten all but one right. And do you know how confusing it is for little ones and it's counterproductive in the fact that it actually teaches them incorrectly. It even said she was right the one time she was actually wrong. Mixed messages.🙄 It's very upsetting that in order to get a refund, I have to ship it back... 1- I live out of town, so why should I have to spend gas money and money on packaging and take time out of my schedule for something thr company messed up on 2- I had already thrown the package out when we got it. It had 4.5 stars so I thought I could trust it. Wrong. ... show more

  • Overall i would recommend! For ages 4+ for sure.
Seller and packaging were awesome!! Got here a lot faster than the orders straight from Amazon right now (Go to "Other new and used options" below the add to cart button and choose a different seller with free shipping!). Its super fun and a great way to learn phonics and reading and I love that it comes with a parent book to tell parents how to motivate the kids and gives other ideas. BUT I hate how the cards just come loose, not attached to each other. They could have put them on a ring or a spiral book but instead they do then flash card style. Bound to get lost, mixed up, separated... One last comment.. don't try to push your child into reading until they're ready. They will start to resent learning instead. ... show more

  • Best way to teach reading and keep them engaged!
We own a few different hot dots sets but I really liked this one a lot especially for my 5 year old. It includes a lesson guide which includes very helpful tips and activities. I have been looking for different ways to teach my 5 year old how to read and she doesn’t like doing flash cards so this phonics set is the perfect way to teach her how to read in a fun way. There are 5 sets of cards that focus on different areas: short vowels, alphabet sound, long vowels, blends & digraphs & reading comprehension. My daughter stays engaged with this set and loves using the Ace pen to select her answer. I love that she is still learning while being home and I can help her how to read by using this awesome phonics set. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun way to teach reading. ... show more

  • Great for kids
I love that there was a variety of cards included. All the different categories were sealed separately, which is great. I have only opened the cards that my son is ready for.

  • I’d like the Phonics Hot jr Dots that wasn’t open!
Phonics box was unsealed compared to the other 2 items. The teaching dog was rattling in box, one of the card packets was open & I’m not sure if I’ve received everything that’s supposed to be in the box. I’d like to return it & received one that hasn’t been open please.

  • Great for Pre-K kids
There are many cards in this box. According to the color, it is divided into different difficulty levels. There is also a pen for continuous pronunciation.

  • Fun Learning!
Love that the cards are on the front and back and is very accurate to the touch. This is great for new readers and kids who struggle with learning sounds of letters and how they "fit" together. This definitely needs to be something all young children have at their fingertips for learning!
