My 2 year old daughter absolutely loves this toy and I love how it engages her brain! The only flaw is that one of the wheels wont spin properly because the peg that holds it on the car is bent. The media could not be loaded. We love Educational Insights Design and Drill toys and both of my kids always love playing with them. We saw that they came out with this bolt buddy car and for my car loving son, this was a perfect fit for him! He got right into looking at the pieces and putting each part of the car together. If you give them the time to figure it out, it is pretty easy to put the car together. But, in case you are wondering how the different parts come together, the manual gives a quick how to page. My favorite part about the whole toy is that the box it comes in turns into a building and road for him to play with. What an awesome way to use the box! I included a picture of one way you could build the box. My son even figured out that you could have different faces for the race car driver! I highly recommend this toy for all kids who love cars and drilling things together. They can put it together, take it apart and then build it again! The media could not be loaded. My 5 year old son absolutely loves this toy! It has become his "go-to" toy to tote around when we go out to restaurants and to playdates. He loves showing off his own drill to others and demonstrating how to make it drill the screws in and how to reverse the drill to take the screws out. I love that he is able to look at the visuals on the instructions and play by himself! The pieces aren't too small and fits easily into his hands for manual building should you not want to use the drill. The box also flips out to a garage and road for the race car to drive on. This set is truly a great gift and toy for kids who need to work on their fine motor development and kids who just love constructing and deconstructing their toys. An added bonus is that the box, even when converted to a garage, allows for all the pieces to fit and close so that my son can tote it around easily. This toy is definitely on my list for future birthday gifts! ... show more

Grandson and Grandpa put the toy together missing 1 screw. Drill very, very cheap. Broke in 10 minutes. Very disappointed.

    • Clear screws can be a problem

My son who is 2.5 loves it and is able to put it together and take it apart on his own. My only complaint is that the screws are clear. I don’t know why a toy company would make the smallest parts of the toy clear. In typical toddler fashion the screws end up all over the place and mixed with other toys so when it comes time to put his car together we’re searching everywhere for tiny clear screws that’s are nearly impossible to see. It’s frustrating when my 9mo old is playing and I didn’t see one of the screws on the ground and he finds it and puts it in his mouth. It is a great toy and I keep it around for that reason I just really wish the screws were colored! ... show more

It's a cool toy for a 4 yo. I like that it teaches basic skills with a screwdriver. It was pretty intuitive and my 4 yo loves to take it apart and put it back together. I wish the toy was just slightly bigger. The monkey is really tiny and once taken apart is really easy to lose. I also would love the screws to be a solid color because they're impossible to find on carpet. Overall, a really cool toy with just a smidge in design improvement it could be amazing. ... show more

I purchased this product on December 5, 2020: (Educational Insights Design & Drill Bolt Buddies Race Car: Easter Toy, Fine Motor Skills & STEM Toy, Perfect Drill Toy for 3+) It was a Christmas gift for an occupational therapist who works in a preschool setting. It was used for the first time on January 6, 2021 (when school was back in session). Unfortunately, the drill stopped working last week (February 16th). The batteries have been changed (twice to be on the safe side). The drill had only been used with one student at a time under adult supervision. We would like to keep using the tool with the students as they loved it, however it no longer works. Is it possible to send a replacement drill? Please advise how I should proceed. ... show more
