This product worked perfectly!! I used this to put on my bar stools that have a metal edge that is kind of sharp for socked feet. I didn't think I'd be able to find anything that would suit for the job. I can't believe how perfectly it fit and worked!! You need a hacksaw to cut it to size. It slips on nice and tight and doesn't move at all. It seems like it will hold up forever. Even if you are wearing shoes . I've been trying to park my truck in my garage next to my wife's mini van. Unfortunately, it gets a bit tight in the garage. In an effort to prevent excess dings and scratches caused by opening the doors into walls or the mini van, I bought some edge trim from AutoZone. Bad idea. The trim seeped glue onto the paint. Passengers would then track the glue everywhere. After spending over an hour cleaning the old glue/trim off, I sought to buy something that used friction alone. That's when I found this bad boy. It is certainly thicker/stronger than anything you can find at a local auto parts store. This edge trim perfectly went around each curve of the door. I've seen no movement in the trim over the last two months. I would definitely recommend this trim for anyone with a truck or a vehicle that can stand a bit of a utilitarian appearance. I cut out a trunk panel assembly from 3/16 “ pressboard and covered it with thin foam and cloth material, then used this as an edge covering. I had to use my Dremel cutter to trim it evenly flush on the ends because the metal “horseshoes” can’t be cut with a razor blade. You can only use a razor between them on the tiny raised ribs. I used a small rubber hammer to tap it on, very tight fit. It turned decent even around the curves. It appears to be good quality, good grip and durable. ... show more

    • trimming with instaloled metao clips
when installing, the metal clips posed a problem two ways. first when trimming for length, the metal clips got in the way. (need some way to show where they are). with the clips, after pushing on the seal to my fiberglass item, they (the clips) scrapped the paint and if the seal needs to come off, a paints touch up will be necessary. Maybe you can produce the same item without the paint scraping clips. would much rather have a adhesive strip to hold it on. ... show more

    • Dog pen trim against rust
I purchased this to create a trim on my dog pen. When he was a puppy and made mistakes between that and cleaning products the pen eventually started to rust on the bottom. The pen is still good but the rust started to stain the floor so instead of purchasing a new one I looked for something to cover the bottom. The 1st product failed to work, saw this one and took a chance. It was a little difficult to install due to having to fold it for the pen four corners but the end result is what I was looking for. I used this to protect the edges of a 1/4 inch thick corrugated aluminium sheet for mounting a solar panel. The corrugated aluminum sheets are very very sensitive, and I wanted something to protect them. This is the perfect solution. This is somewhat hard to work with, and you really have to fight to get it on, but once it is on, it does the best job of protecting the edges. It is very strong and extremely durable for optimum protection for my panels. It is a great solution for protecting edges. I purchased this to finish a mirror on a vintage candy machine that I rebuilt. The new mirror is 1/4 inch thick and one edge that is not covered with trim. I wanted something that would look like it was supposed to be there. I read a number of reviews and some said it fits 1/4 inch and others say it does not. In my case it fit perfectly. It was a little hard to get it started however what you need to do is start at one end and tap it on. Follow through down the line until it is all on and seated. I had to cut it and there are what look like little stainless steel tabs inside which help hold it on when bent on curves. For me it worked fine and looks good. ... show more
