A little annoying to install but not difficult. Great quality and a great upgrade for your JK. Installed well over a year ago and absolutely no issues. You wont be disappointed.

  • Read this if your door gets stuck or the handle doesn’t operate as expected
Size: 5 Pieces
Great handles! There are a couple of things I learned while installing, including how to open a door that won’t open from either the inside or the outside. IF ONE OR MORE OF YOUR HANDLES ARE NOT OPERATING AS EXPECTED, READ ON! It’s likely not the handle but rather your latch mechanism needs to be adjusted. Fortunately, the adjustment procedure is extremely simple. I’ve included the steps to do this further down in my review . First of all, the instructions are terrible. Look up the YT video “Custom Jeep Door Handles? How?” By AdventureDex for a nice install procedure. These handles come with their own “buttons”. YOU MUST USE THE BUTTONS THAT CAME WITH THE HANDLE. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE YOUR ORIGINAL BUTTONS! Why? Because there’s a good chance you’ll end up with a stuck shut door like I did. Also, the OEM buttons don’t slide properly in the these handles without modification. In short, don’t use the OEM buttons. The rod protrudes too far and can cause a malfunction of the latch mechanism. The reason I tried using the OEM button is because the first handle I installed did not operate properly. The door wouldn’t open from the outside using the new handle unless I pressed in hard with my thumb while pulling. This is not ideal, as the whole point of buying these handles was to avoid having to push with the thumb. At first, the OEM button seemed to work well, whereas the aftermarket button did not. Satisfied, I moved to the next handle. Similar issue over there so I put the OEM button in and things were fine until I buttoned back up the door trim and went to test it and - nothing. Door stuck shut. If this happens to you, the way to open the door is to pull the interior panel off the door again (this time while inside the Jeep), then pull the round rubber grommet that you had to pull to get the original handle off. Inside this hole you can access the lever mechanism that the button pushes to open the door. Pull it toward you and the door will pop open. I used an endoscope camera and a screwdriver to achieve this. Worst case you could possibly cut off the stuck outside handle and access the latch that way. The proper fix to the new handle not operating correctly is to adjust the latching mechanism using an easily accessible adjustment screw. The door needs to be open to make this adjustment. The screw is inside the hole marked in my photo. It’s a 4mm hex/allen wrench bolt. Here’s how to adjust it: - loosen the adjustment screw 1/2 turn - operate the outside handle / button fully 3 times - tighten the adjustment screw (torque is 3.5Nm/31in-lb, not very tight) If I had known how to adjust the door latch in the first place, all the drama I went through with the install of these could have been avoided. Couple more tips: - The red stuff on the back of the handle is tape. Peel it to reveal some rather thick clear adhesive. It’s very strong so you’ll have a time trying to remove the handle again if you taped it down. - The blue stuff on the back of the buttons that come with the handles is a protective film. Remove it if you want. I did on one and didn’t notice on another. Don’t think it will be an issue other than it eventually wearing off and hanging down from the handle - DONT DROP THE OEM HANDLE NUTS IN THE DOOR. Good lord I spent hours fishing that out. Removal of the interior black trim is not recommended, nor could I figure out how to work loose the huge screws that appear to have been driven in from behind the trim. I bought some neodymium magnets at HF for like $3 and one fit inside an 8mm socket I used to remove the nuts. Tools: - 8mm socket (magnetized ideally) - Torx 10 for removing the screws on the OEM handle spring assembly - Torx 20 for removing the 2 door trim panel screws and the screw behind the inside pull handle - Philips #2 for removing the 2 screws behind the decorative trim on the interior grab handle (pop this trim off, the bolts on the outside of it are decorative) - Stepped drill bit - you will need to drill a hole in the black plastic trim that’s under the outer trim you remove. The video and instructions explain this Optional, but you may need : - trim popping tool - torx 50 bit for when you drop stuff down the door and need to remove the door to shake them out upside down ... show more

  • Love them, but...
Size: 5 Pieces
2016 Jeep JKU Rubicon with power locks/windows I've had these handles installed on my 2016 Rubicon for a few months and I am very glad I purchased them. They are very well made and so far I have had zero problems caused by build quality. But with everything there are pros and cons. PROS Quality: These handles are well built and seem very sturdy. Zero complaints on the actual product. Install: Actual install took about 45 minutes, if you subtract the extra 30 minute hiccup I encountered (See CONS). Durability: So far these handles have performed flawlessly. Zero issues with the functionality. Ease of Use: One of the surprising things I encountered after install is how much easier my doors open. Granted, Jeep doors are not hard to open. These make it easier. For lack of a better description, the door sort of springs open instead of having to pull it open. CONS Installation Instructions: Do yourself a huge favor and throw them away as soon as you open the box! There are several YouTube videos that will walk you through the whole process. Tailgate Handle: My only issue with this product, and it's by no means the company's fault, is the tail gate latch. I have a 37" spare on a reinforced tailgate mount and the spacing between the tire and handle is quite thin. If I open the gate with my right hand I scrape the tire. Using my left hand has less issues, but I'm right handed. If you have a bumper mounted spare this shouldn't be a problem. Jeep Door Interiors: Again, not a product design problem. When removing the old and installing the new there is a hole in the door with very little clearance that accesses a nut holding the handle in place. If you drop this nut, it falls into the bottom of the door requiring you to completely disassemble the inner door to retrieve it. PRO TIP: Use a socket and extension with a strong magnet to hold the nut in the socket. I only dropped one and that added quite a bit of time to my install. OVERALL: If there is ever an issue with one of the handles, I will be purchasing a replacement. I love these handles and would highly recommend that anyone holding back to make the leap and purchase them! ... show more

  • Awesome upgrade to your Jeep JKU
Size: 5 Pieces
Like many Jeep lovers, I am a sucker for accessories. Some look cool, but have a trade off in function or cause more noise. Some seem functional, but get in the way. So, I was a bit skeptical in replacing my actual door handles which need to be dependable. I was also tired of trying to push a button to open the door with my hands full and that seems to happen all the time. After watching an online review I decided to give these a try. And I think it may be the best accessory I have installed. Installation wasn't difficult, but does require some trial and error drilling. You must use the factory spring which is a simple transfer to the new handle. One note on this. When you install the spring, be sure the new button is aligned properly. If it does not slide easily, turn it 1/4 turn and try again until it is smooth. It should not be in any bind at all. That may be why some people have 1 or more doors that are more difficult to open. All 5 of mine open easily with no extra effort. I am impressed with the quality and overall feel of these handles. They open easily and seem well built. Time will tell if they last like OEM. I highly recommend these if you frequently have your hands full when you open your door. Not to mention they look great too! ... show more
