Inspired by the classic design and construction of Eddie Bauer menswear, the Kingston ensemble features an indigo cotton twill face with contrast double needle topstitching creating a classic design. Set include coordinate shams with stitching details (1 sham with twin size). the comforter reverses to a handsome indigo and ivory Buffalo plaid print on cozy, soft all cotton flannel for additional warmth and comfort. Matching cotton flannel plaid European shams are also available to complete the look. Finish the look with our Eddie Bauer flannel sheets and decorative pillows. I love the clean and simple style of this comforter! Country-inspired vibe with a classic plaid design. This was a great value and well worth the price. Here’s my hot take on the pros and cons: PROS: 1) This a high-quality 100% cotton fabric — nice and soft. My husband and I couldn’t stand our scratchy polyester comforter, so we were really on the hunt for another option, and this was the perfect find for us. 2) The mid-weight of this comforter is not too light and not too heavy. Ideal for all seasons. My husband is somehow always hot at night, and I’m apparently a cold-blooded species of lizard who needs to sun myself on a rock regularly to maintain any type of body heat, yet this suits us both. 3) The set comes with two matching pillow shams. Call me a simple gal, but that is all I need to make my bed look nice. I will never understand the need for comforter sets that include 18 decorative pillows you have to throw on the floor every night and rearrange every morning (but maybe that’s just me). 4) Machine washable! 5) Many full/queen comforters are 90x90, whereas this is 96x92. That bit of extra fabric is a huge plus, particularly if you have a bed partner who steals the comforter over to their side in the middle of the night with blatant disregard for you — only to defend themselves the next morning by saying things like “I was asleep the whole time” and “I really don’t remember doing that” and “oh god is this going to come up in couples’ therapy again?” Cons: Just one. Cancel your plans because you’re going to be taking a lot more naps under this comforter. Just kidding, it’s a pandemic, you didn’t have any plans anyway. ** we bought another version, but it will not let me leave a new review so I am having to add to the old one. This one is for the plaid green microwave on one side and very soft fleece on the other. We love this one and I’ve included it in the photos, but you should know that if you have a pet I need to wash it weekly like we do, it will not hold up. It is shrinking more and more and the dogs nails cause pulls. We will continue to use it for this winter, but will most likely need a new one next winter. He is so comfy I can’t make him stay off :) This is for the red plaid microsuede. I am a hot sleeper. We bought this hoping it would be like another EB we have but it is now. Very nice but definitely not for summer. Not light weight. Also not the microsuede the others are. We will keep it for winter but back to a quilt for summer. ... show more

Please note that this comforter is made from very scratchy fabric. It is not soft or warm. It reminded me of a comforter in a lower end hotel. It felt very overpriced for the quality. I returned it and bought one that was $25 cheaper and much better quality at kohls.

We ordered this Eddie Bauer comforter set in green, queen size, and paid about $80. This set is very good quality with a heavy cotton feel (plus maybe some laundry starch). It will probably soften with use as most fabrics will. Thankfully, this is not cheap fabric. The the areas of green (where the color is dense) is a dark forest green and match extremely closely the green color of the Eddie Bauer fleece throw blanket sold here on Amazon. The plaid is charming and casual, just like the E.B. flannel shirt patterns. The size is generous for a queen and hangs over enough to hide a 12" mattress, with an additional 7" to cover a bed frame, etc., on the three visible sides. The shape is accurately rectangular, not misshapen. The matching pillow shams are generous for most pillows. No loose or uneven stitching. Shipping wrinkles were removed easily with steam directed from a steam iron...we did not iron the comforter. We have no experience with use yet as it is a guest bed situation(no guests), but expect the set to wear well based on initial observations and handling. Do not expect the plaid pattern of the shams to exactly line up with the pattern on the comforter. This is a mixed one for me. On one hand, I kept it. It is warm and functional, and well-made. On the other hand, the material (others have noted this) is VERY ROUGH. It might be 100% cotton, as it says, but it feels like a mix of bark and poly. Maybe a very low thread count? Definitely not soft. I wont use it on the bed, as I had been planning. Would never cuddle into this. I will use it as a base or cushion for camping, picnicking, or on top of the air mattress as a buffer (air mattresses get cold). It is very warm.
