This bookcase was easy to assemble on my own, even with kids crawling all over me while I did it. I really like that the shelves are both easily adjustable, but also sturdy - screwing the pieces in rather than just letting them rest on pegs was a nice touch! This was hard to put together- took husband 2 hours! The boards for the back are cheap thin wood- he got splinters! But once it was together, it does look nice for storing children’s toys- I like the rounded corners and mount for the wall- wish it came in different colors.

Very nice cabinet for our granddaughter's books, is sturdy and it looks well made. My husband is handy and it took him 2 hours to build it after a trip to the hardware store to get better quality cams to replace the cheap ones included in the tool kit. I have several other ecr4kids items but this one was a bit different. it didnt come with floor glides so product sits directly on floor, and some of the connection pieces in the back panel are plastic which isnt my favorite. I knew the shelves would be adjustable but I thought it would mean I could decide where to mount them and remount later if needed at another height. no it means the shelves are loose and can flop about. because of this I would only use this product with older children at least k and up. I really expected this product to be more like my other shelves from this company. they are the same finish. the screws are a bit confusing as there are several types. it is imperative you count them so you can deduce which is which then label your piles. 2 of them look just the same but are different lengths. from the picture you cant tell which is right you have to know what the label is or mixups are easy. in the photo the 2 darker vertical stripes on the backing are the plastic connectors. ... show more

The product was difficult to put together. We accidentally swapped screws and used wrong screws in one area and now can’t get them back out. In the other area we used the wrong screws, my husband screwed through the wood so it splintered at the sides. It wood is nicely labeled. It would be helpful if the hardware was put in separate small bags and labeled. We are hoping to find replacement screws at the hardware store but the wood won’t be able to be fixed. ... show more

I was very disappointed in the poor quality of the bookcase. When my husband and I put it together, the back panels were so badly bowed that we had to finish assembling it without the back. I purchased a shelf unit from the same company several years ago and found it to be of much better quality.
