I like the variety of chain it is a shiny yellow orange little brighter than gold. So you can tell it is craft wire and the clasp can lock up or break sometimes.

Grear variety of chain styles in this Ecoofor Gold Necklace Chains for Jewelry Making...with Stainless Steel Jump Rings/Lobster Clasps/Connectors (78.7' Total/10 Rolls) set. Perfect for crafters, those into DIY, or if you just need simple repairs on goldtone jewelry. The more delicate chains are even great for nail art or doll accessories, like if you want to mimic a chain from a quilted designer bag, etc. Since these aren't large rolls, they're best for small projects (unless you use a combination of styles for something like body chains, layered necklaces, etc.). One of the product photos made it sound like you only get 30 of each size of the jump rings, but as the description stated, it is 100 each of those (though I got 103 of the larger size & 102 of the smaller ones--bonus!). A few did tend to stick to one another from the plating, so those particular ones didn't have completely smooth surfaces. I may file them, but it may take away some of the plating. And for some reason, 3 (out of the 10) ball chain connectors were rose goldtone, rather than yellow goldtone. I don't really mind, since I like having more variety, but if someone needed this to make 10 goldtone ball chain necklaces, then it would be a bummer. Make sure to double-check the plating colors, but at least, for the most part, this set has nicely matched findings with the chains. ... show more

Definitely worth having! It’s perfect for any casual project that needs a bit of specifically colored chain to complete the ensemble. Joining different colored chains together creates a unique necklace with rainbow hues. It’s a good collection of 10 spools of various colored chains, each colored chain rolled into approximately 4-feet lengths. The package included over 200 jump rings (2 different sizes) and 30 lobster clasps, 3 each of the same color, and each 3-piece set matches one of the chain’s colors. Very convenient to make a jewelry piece with color coordination. The chains, lobster clasps, jump rings and Clip Clasps keeps their colors over the weeks they have been worn WHEN HANDLED CAREFULLY. We don’t expose them to harsh chemicals and don’t shower with them. I have not observed any breakage, stretching, rust, blemish or tarnish with projects that my teenage daughter has made. However, as the chains are painted, the paint peels off in areas that repeatedly rub against hard surfaces for a prolonged period. Also, when working with them, you MUST use a silicone/rubber/plastic covered tip pliers to prevent the paint color from flaking off. All-metal tools mars or scratches the paint off. My young teenage daughter explained that to attach this chain to a set of beads or a pendant or to make a charms necklace, she had to use jump-rings, chaining larger ones together to allow the necklace or bracelet to be adjusted to a longer or shorter size. The larger jump rings came in handy here for that. There are also 30 “Pinch clip clasps” that comes 3 in a set of the same colors as the 10 chains. They are like a bonus in this jewelry making set. We love the unique variety of chain colors this set offers. Ten colors in all. A chain for any project, or multiple colored chain pieces for a more unique look. Rose Gold, KC Gold, Yellow Gold, Dark Rose Gold, Silver, White Silver, Bronze, Gun Black, Electrophetic Black, Red Copper. Can’t go wrong here, especially for fifteen dollars. To me, these links are too big to wear as a necklace, of course unless one is into extreme styles. But these are perfect for key chains and other chains used in accessories. There are 10 colors: 2 gold tones; 2 silver tones; 3 rose tones; 1 black; 2 brown tones. In my packet of companions to the chains are: 36 total lobster clasps, in the 10 different colors; 30 pinch clips, 3 each color; and 200+ jump rings. Overall, this is a nice set of chains and fasteners to make costume jewelry. However, do take note of the brassy gold color. It really does come in the color that are in the pictures, it isn't just one of those computer color things. If you don't mind the brassy gold color, then the variety and the quality of the chains and parts are as good as you will find in a regular craft store and for a better price than you can usually find. ... show more

This set of chain spools looks just like the product photos. As you can see, it's a very bright, orange-yellow gold tone. To me, this isn't the most natural-looking color and I don't think anyone would mistake it for real gold. The thinnest chains look the most real. I think most of these would be best used for things like sun catchers, key chains, phone straps, or for children's jewelry.
