These are the best curtains! They are substantial and block out light. Great for privacy and keeping out cold and/or letting in heat. I ordered the beige. Considering ordering an additional pair for another window. Reasonable price as well.

I ordered white, so I pretty much knew that they weren't going to black out the room, and they don't. However, they do a sufficient job! They darken the room plenty. They are a good weight, therefore do a sufficient job of keeping the heat/cold out. I ordered white and the color is good. No gray or blue tones and doesn't look at all dingy. It is a true, crisp white and the fabric is good with a nice texture. They were creased, of course, from shipping. I'll admit that I have not steamed them yet, but I feel confident, due to the fabric, that they should steam out just fine. You cannot beat the quality for the price! ... show more

    • Wonderful, but you need 2 panels.

These curtains are exactly as they describe and the color is an exact match to the picture of navy. If you have a standard normal size window I would recommend you get 2 panels for each window, or resort to using thumb tacks or pins to hold the sides down. We originally ordered only 2 and put one on each of our 2 living room windows, and they did block out most of the sun in the main part of the curtain. The only thing was the sun coming through on the sides of the windows. So we ended up receiving 2 more panels and put 2 on each window and boy did it make a difference!!! The difference is astounding. We live in an apartment on the 2nd (top) floor in Texas and late in the afternoon to sunset, during the summer months, our place gets hot. I mean even with our a/c running all day when we are gone, we come home from work and it is, no joke, 85 degrees in our place. These curtains have darken the place immensely and keep it cooler. We are now looking into getting curtains for our sliding door, just maybe a lighter color. We don't want it too get too dark inside! ... show more

I need 4 more panels but for whatever reason I am not allowed to. I think these are really nice and very soft. The material is very nice and thick the grommets are a darker color which I like rather than the silver color usually added. I am moving into a new home and need new curtains and I have bought similar curtains for my current home and love them. But my living room has 4 windows (I at first thought I only had 2 windows) so only got 4. But after checking the house again realized my mistake and tried to buy more. Instead I have had to go to another vendor to buy 8 curtains. Hopefully they are just as nice. I may have to return these waiting to see how it will look in one of the bedrooms before I make a decision. Since I have not yet hung them up I can't say how well they block the light but the others I have like these they are pretty effective in keeping the sun out and also they keep the warmth in. Will update more if I do keep them. UPDATE: The white ones do not block out the sun much at all. My front two windows get direct sun and it gets very hot in the summer. I had to go to another curtain that actually was a blackout curtain to help keep the sun out. The other two windows I have left these curtains on as it lets in so much light that my plants are thriving it just isn't a direct hit from the sun so I don't need to block all the sunlight. Still the curtains are nice enough just don't expect any sun blockage from the white ones. They do allow for privacy though. ... show more

Great actual blackout curtains with the inner white lining. Darker picture taken when the sun isn’t shining on that window and lighter picture when it was. Two panels used on about a 30” wide window.

This is a long overdue review... I will add some photo's later but there are splotches, and holes where I can see there is fabric missing that the sun shows through. It's only in a few spots but it is off putting to see because it definitely means it's not blocking as much heat as the rest of the spots are. For the most part it works better than default curtains though. Sunlight pours in over the top, and bottom though which makes the reflective surface not work the way it should... I get the feeling it's baking the heat between it, and the window which flows over the top... Price wise it wasn't great either. I'm not saying this is a terrible product. If you need curtains fast that will take a room baking like an oven, and reduce the heat... Yes. This will do that. But you'd be better off buying another set for a bit more money if you need results to be perfect. I'll tinker around, and try to block out some sunlight, and heat from the top/bottom and see if it makes a difference so I can tell if the fabric is helping as much as it should be and then update my review here when that time comes. ... show more

Overall I am very happy with this purchase. Do these curtains block out 99% of light as advertised? In a technical sense yes, in a practical sense no. If you press the curtains so that the top, sides, and bottom are completely flush against your window(or the wall) then yes these curtains will achieve 99% light blockage as advertised. Most people are not going to do this as you would have to permanently stick the curtains to the wall thus some light will leak through the top, sides, and bottom. I attached some strong magnets to the side of my window frame walls and then used black paperclips(my curtains are black) attached to the top, middle, and bottom of each curtain. The magnets latch on to the paperclips and hold the curtain close to the wall and allow only a small amount of light to enter. You can also use paperclips with strong magnets to seal two curtain panels used on one window. I would estimate I am probably getting 90% light blockage which is good enough for me. The energy savings are also nice, particularly during our hot Texas summers. This should help reduce my air conditioning bills which I hope will result in all these curtains I installed throughout my home paying for themselves within 4-5 years. Not sure about the claimed noise reduction, have not really tested that yet. I can sleep better with the darkness and watching TV is more enjoyable without the harsh glare of the sun in my living room. ... show more

This is my first time buying and experiencing white Blackout Grommet Drapes, I usually buy Rod Pockets. I wanted a long drape to cover my French doors for added privacy. When I purchased, they were under $9 per drape, I purchased and hung 2 pairs (4 drapes). Grommet drapes are faster and easier to install than rod pocket curtains. These drapes do not have a separate backing. Shadows can be seen through these drapes, but they serve their blackout purpose from the sun. I have not noticed noise cancellation with these drapes. I do not regret purchasing these white blackout drapes. They're serving a color scheme purpose, blackout is a bonus. The fabric quality is nice. If you're wanting a blackout purpose, choose another color other than white. These pics were taken on a full sun day in July with 12:30pm sunlight. Enjoy ... show more
