Similar to a few other purchasers of this product the diffuser broke off from the base. It just happened one day after having been in the same spot in the pond for a year. It was hard to tell from the pictures, but these are large, heavy aerators. Just what we needed for our pond. They are quick to set up and easy to lower in to place in the water.
