Every time I find a new meter that works well with reasonably-priced strips, within 4 to 6 mos. the price of the strips doubles or more. So far so good with this one. Like any other glucose meter, the meter is pretty inexpensive, but they fleece you with the test strips. I tried this meter because the strips are reasonably priced. Our insurance covered the cost of my husbands diabetic supply. Unfortunately I dropped his meter in a glass of water and of course it quit working. I called the supply place and they recommended I purchase this thru Amazon, identical to what he had, using same strips and 1/5th of the price the insurance company paid the retailer. ... show more

If you looking for basic model glucose test, this is perfect. Somewhat hard to figure out in regards to looking at past readings but it is perfect for the price!
