It fits like a glove and soft like butter. I can't attest to how long it will last as I've just received it and planning to walk in it for 2 months daily in Europe this coming autumn. I usually don't like buying shoes on line because each manufacturer has a different idea of size. I take a 7W so anyone who takes a wide width in shoes or sneakers can understand my hesitation in buying footwear online. I have bought other shoes in this brand but was still unsure if these would fit. I took a gamble and was not disappointed. The collar is well padded as well as the tongue. After receiving them, I wore them around the house to "break them in". For me, no break in was needed they were comfortable from the very beginning. I wore them the next day to a festival, walking and standing for several hours. I did wear low cut sport socks with them. No blisters, no hot spots! I really thought I would need to buy inserts for more support and cushion but these are very comfortable as is. I usually wear a 9.5 wide and these fit perfectly. I like how durable and comfortable they are. I don't like the shoe strings being so short, I like them a little longer but they do work fine.
