  • Amazing.
Color: Matte Black Frame/Gold Brown Lens
I don't leave reviews on many of the things I purchase, but I felt the need to do so this time. These sunglasses are flat-out awesome, and I love 'em. Sadly, it's extremely difficult today to find great quality amber or yellow polarized sunglasses, despite the fact that they offer so many benefits over regular grey, blue, or rose lenses for general (or driving) usage. I literally spent about 5 hours looking at all of the top sunglasses manufacturers to find a pair that had yellow or amber lenses AND were also polarzied, in ADDITION to being inexpensive, and then I found Eagle Eyes. Sunglasses are a function-first, fashion-second item, and too many sunglasses manufacturers focus on the latter rather than the former. I'm not sure about anyone else, but when I put on regular sunglasses you get at Walmart or online through other brands, or at Sunglass Hut, I still have to squint a bit when I look in the general direction of the sun. With my Fit Ons, I felt the urge to squint purely out of habit, but I no longer needed to do so because of how effective they are. I should also mention that, in accordance with previous reviewers, the yellow tint to everything can be quite jarring at first if you're not already used to it (I was, because I'm normally determined to get amber or yellow polarized shades). It only took me a week to adjust, but it's definitely worth getting used to. And, in Minnesota, where we've had snow on the ground for months, the extreme cut down on glare from the snow and ice couldn't be more welcome. I was also surprised at how bright everything still is through these shades, while having glare cut down. Eagle Eyes isn't kidding when they say that they don't dim what you're viewing, but they do cut down UVA and UVB rays 100%, and block most (read: not all, but almost all) of the blue wavelengths, so that makes the brightness comfortable and the contrast very pleasing. They did come with a very soft (not cotton; think close to silk) pouch, but not a hard case (which was perfectly fine for me, but may not be okay for someone else). Also, they will be larger than you expect them to be. The size is because they fit over Rx glasses, so keep that in mind. They look cool, and going from regular sunglasses to a pair with your peripheral vision protected (but not blocked) by the side lenses, the improvement is enormous. You might think having side lenses looks weird, but they pay-off is huge. I agree with others about the frames being plastic - I would have expected something a little sturdier, but they seem perfectly strong to me. Unless I'm slamming the ground with my face, I don't expect them to break anytime soon. In short, these are the best sunglasses I've ever owned. For the price point and the proven brand, you can't go wrong with Eagle Eyes IMHO. Hope that helps people, and no - I'm not affiliated with Eagle Eyes or Amazon; this review is an honest one. ... show more

  • Excellent lenses but pop out easily
Color: Matte Black Frame/Gold Brown Lens
I bought these as a quick replacement for my prescription sunglasses that I just lost, figuring they'll at least give me sun protection until I get a new pair of prescription ones. I honestly like these more than the prescription sunglasses, though, because the complete coverage they provide is nice on the eyes. I also bought a pair of universal clipon sunglasses but I like these much better for the full coverage. I didn't have a problem with pain from them pressing in on the sides of my head like some reviewers complained about. The lenses themselves remind me of my old Suncloud ambers from the 80's; the sharpness is really excellent and I like the tint better than neutral grey (I've also read that amber cuts out more of the damaging blue light than grey does, but who knows if that's just another "this study says" headline that'll pass soon). The only crummy thing is that I dropped them and a lens popped out. I was able to snap it back into place from the backside, but they don't seem very well secured in the frame. The other crummy thing is my wife says they make me look like I'm an 80 year old codger because they definitely have that old person look (I'm 44 but normally still have a trace of my youthful coolness, or at least I pretend I do). When I need cool points I can always pop in my contact lenses and throw on my wraparound Ray-Bans, but for driving or outdoor chores, I have to say these are pretty nice--maybe there can be an ironic-cool element to them too? Like the "so uncool they're cool" styles of recent years like trucker caps and 1940s Frank Sinatra fedoras? ... show more

I love these sunglasses! They are just what I was looking for. The problem with my other over prescription glasses were to dark for driving, made me squint and gave me a headache. They are made very well.

  • POOR QUALITY SUNGLASSES AT AN EXPENSIVE PRICE.
Color: Matte Black Frame/Gold Brown Lens
I ordered a pair of these on the recommendation of a friend. I initially liked them well enough, that I ordered a 2nd set for my wife. Her's arrived damaged. The frame was bent, and the lenses had popped out. Holding these lenses in hand made me realize just how flimsy and cheap they really were. Amazon followed through for me and replaced them. Just recently, I had the side frame (bow) of mine crack in two as I was removing them from my head. They "snapped" at the narrowest part of the frame, its weakest point. Also note, that when closed the tip of the side frame (bow) rubs against the lower corner of the lenses and has multiple scratches where they have rubbed. The included case did nothing to prevent that from happening. Now the glasses are useless, and Eagle Eyes conveniently omits any warranty for a defective product that I can discern from their paperwork unless you had the foresight to buy their "extended warranty." All in all, very disappointed with the quality of this product, despite the glowing terms and testimonials Eagle Eyes uses to describe them. I cannot comment on why there are the number of high reviews this product receives. I did not find them so and I note seeing the same problems I experienced in many of the one-star reviews. Read the one stars and then decide if you want to spend a premium amount of cash on a mediocre pair of glasses. Nuf said ... show more
