  • Great value! Great looking bumper!
Size: JJKRB000
Despite all the negatives I had heard about EAG and their "cheap, Chinese knock-off, gotta buy American, you get what you pay for" rhetoric, I decided that I liked the looks of the bumpers offered by this company. Being an educator, I appreciated the low cost of their bumpers compared to others of similar design, so I saved up and bought both a front and a rear bumper from this company. As this is a review for the rear bumper, I'll just focus on this. The bumper actually got to me a whole day early. (2 days instead of 3.) I was shocked when I got home and saw it on the patio waiting for me! It was heavy to bring inside for sure and I'm fairly certain my delivery guy is hating me this summer but oh well! Delivery gets an A+ rating for sure. Opening the package, the bumper was packaged quite well and safely. There was damage to the box, but not to the bumper itself. No scratches anywhere, no dents or dings, and the protruding parts were covered in heavy, form fitted plastic. All the hardware was included and not missing. As thin powder coating is a common complaint with these bumpers in many reviews, I checked it over pretty closely. While there were a couple very thin places on my front bumper, I saw no areas that looked to be needing a touch up on this one. (With the front one, I just put some black heat resistant paint I had left over from painting my OEM muffler on it and it matched very well.). The safety of delivery and the work on it receives an A+ rating from me as well. The directions were kinda lacking, but honestly, it's not that difficult to figure out. If you took your original bumper off, you can put this one on. Just reverse what you did! The directions do say this is a two person job and while I did this by myself, it would DEFINITELY help if you had a second set of hands to help out. This thing is HEAVY! Not too heavy to lift, but certainly a difficult job to try to line up the holes and such and keep it from falling off while holding it up. It's definitely doable by yourself, just plan on extra time and sweating a bit. I gave this section just an A because of the instructions, but just barely - it could easily have been an A+! The holes lined up perfectly. Helpful tip: keeping the bracket in place inside the frame was difficult, if not impossible, by itself. I used part of the thick, styrofoam-like blanket material covering the bumper during delivery to stuff inside the frame to hold the bracket in place. I heard someone actually used a plastic water bottle, but I didn't have any at the time. Trust me, this works great! Rated A - for the extra work on the bracket, but then again, I'm not sure how I could do it any differently so it's still in the A range. The welds looked ok to me. I mean, a couple weren't perfect, but I don't think they will affect anything. It's certainly not going to fall apart on my Jeep! I gave this part an A rating. Now, I'm not a bumper expert, but I do know a couple of things. One, when I took my OEM bumper off my Jeep, I could literally carry it with one hand. Like, seriously, it doesn't even weigh 20 pounds at MOST. This bumper is heavy gauge steel and as such, easily weighs around 90 pounds. It will certainly take a hit if, God forbid, an accident happens. The shackles they provide are rated high, so you use them to pull yourself or someone out of a jam pretty easily. Two, I know it makes my rear end look a LOT better than that plastic thing it had on it. And three, it is heavy so expect your Jeep to not travel as quickly and easily as before. Combined with the heavy front bumper, I don't climb the highway hills as easily for sure. Overall, I rated this highly. I'll give it an A rating over all. Now for the record, I was not reimbursed, I was not paid, I did not receive this bumper for free for giving it a high rating. Though it sure would be nice if they did, hahaha! I would certainly buy again. ... show more

  • Great Bumper, get a friend to help!
Size: JJKRB000
This bumper looks amazing but it was a B*TCH to get on all by myself! I can’t tell you how often and how loudly I cursed while trying to put this bumper on. It is certainly a two person job when it is time to mount this thing. It took me about 30 minutes to get the bumper mounted myself. Luckily I’m 6’3 and have long arms because anyone else wouldn’t have been able to hold and support the bumper; as well as get the mounting plates lined up and get the bolts through the frame and plate. Once you get one of the bolts in that is enough to support the bumper and dismiss your helper. After that you can do the other side by yourself. This bumper is a HUGE upgrade from the standard bumper. This thing is heavy-duty and IT WILL SUPPORT 35s! I love the D-rings on this too! It completes the JEEP look and of course is functional in case you need to pull someone or need to be rescued yourself. With a bumper like this if someone isn’t paying attention and rear-ends you, for them…it’s CURTAINS! Overall I’d buy this bumper again. It’s Kick-A**! ... show more

  • Iinstilation Instructions
Size: JJKRB000
Nice bumper. Had a 2 small paint dings. Seller did a very good job of packaging product though. I don't think it could of been packaged any better. I will get some spray under liner at auto parts store. No big deal. Instructions would of been nice. Safety chain rings would be nice also if you are going to include a hitch attachment. I drilled 2 holes for chains, that will do. instillation: 2 people preferred but can be done with one if you have a jack stand or 2. There are 3 brackets 2 being identical. They will slide into the box frame of the Jeep. Very nice and user friendly. If you are installing it on your own, prop one side of bumper up on jack stand as you get the bolts started in the other side. be very careful as not to scratch the paint of the jeep with the bumper. Once you get the bolts STARTED go to the other side and reset your jack stand under the center of the bumper to hold the center level (use some of the packaging that came with the bumper to put on the jack stand so you wont scratch your bumper). Now START the other two bolts on the opposite side. Now you have to use the 3rd bracket for the center holes. This is important. I am sure that the bracket is supposed to go between the Jeep frame and the exhaust. I did not put mine there. If you do it will put bumper to close to the Jeep and cause bumper to rub on corners of Jeep causing body damage and eventually rust. I got a heavy duty washer (not supplied with bumper) on each bolt and stuck it thru the frame. I put the bracket between the bumper and the frame which pushed the bumper back about a quarter of an inch allowing enough room for the bumper to not touch the Jeep. If you are not careful you will scratch the corners of your jeep until you get the 4 center bolts started (I used my stocking hat to shove in between the bumper and the corner of the jeep so I would not scratch it). Worked really well. I would for sure get a heavier washer though and not depend on the ones they sent you. Once you have all the bolts mounted tighten the 4 center bolts. Once they are tight go on and tighten the 2 end bolts on each side. I liked this rear bumper enough that I just ordered the front bumper. hopefully it comes with some instructions (not holding breath though). If this bumper had safety chain mounts and instructions I would of given it 5 stars. I realize there was a photo not showing safety chain mounts but come on. If you are going to have a hitch, might want to have chain mounts. This bumper took about an hour to install by myself. ... show more

  • Great fit
Size: JJKRB000 Plus
Purchased this to replace the stock bumper on a 2016 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. The fit was perfect and with an extra set of hands easy to install. It lines up nicely with the stock fenders. I am pleased with the construction. I have a 33.3 in spare mounted on the rear door and there is 1 inch clearance from the new bumper. If you have a 35 in spare, it would would not clear the bumper. Very pleased with this bumper and it's a great price. ... show more
