I bought this about two months ago but wanted to use it for a while before writing a review. I’ve tried a lot of makeup removers over the years, including some much more expensive cleansing balms. I honestly didn’t expect this one to become my favorite, but it has. I massage a small amount onto dry skin, add a little warm water, and my makeup comes right off. It removes my foundation, mascara, primer, and eye makeup without rubbing or scrubbing. My skin feels clean, soft, and hydrated after I rinse it off. It never leaves that tight feeling that some cleansers do. I also like that it’s fragrance free because my skin can be sensitive. A little goes a long way, so the jar lasts longer than I expected. Fantastic balm for a double cleanse

This balm is lightweight, non-comedogenic, with gentle ingredients that won’t agitate problem areas on sensitive, acne prone skin. It’s highly effective at stripping off heavy or waterproof makeup without drying the skin or damaging the barrier. You only need a pea-sized dollop, a little goes a very long way especially once you emulsify it with water. You absolutely DO need to double cleanse. I believe this balm causes breakouts when it’s not followed with a second cleanse. I swear by this balm and use it regularly in my double cleanse routine after wearing makeup. I like that this balm is budget friendly, performs like a luxury brand, and lasts easily 3-4 months. I do NOT like that I was sent an unsealed, opened, and used product that was missing the spatula. I don’t know how common it is to receive products that have already been used and returned, or have simply been tampered with before being shipped, but that is a major hygiene red flag. Elf does it again!

I absolutely love the e.l.f. SKIN Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm. It has quickly become one of my favorite steps in my skincare routine because it removes makeup so effortlessly while still feeling gentle on my skin. One of the best things about this cleansing balm is how well it melts away makeup. I tend to wear a full face and this balm breaks everything down easily without needing to tug or scrub my skin. Another thing I appreciate is how my skin feels afterward. Instead of feeling tight or stripped like some cleansers can leave it, my skin feels smooth, soft and hydrated. It has a very light scent and the consistency and thickness is perfect. I also love how affordable this product is. You get a good amount and It performs just as well as many higher end cleansing balms. My only small complaint is the packaging. I wish it had a pump or a twist top dispenser instead of the jar. That would make it a little more convenient and easier to use, especially with wet hands. Overall, I highly recommend this cleansing balm. Miracle In a Jar

This is a miracle in a jar! I doubted at first that the tiny scoop would suffice to cover my entire face but surprisingly just one teeny scoop was enough! Then I noticed the lovely scent. When it says makeup melting it isn't joking! I have been using certain "popular" makeup remover wipes for years and it was still a struggle to get my waterproof mascara off. Not with this! Great for bulletproof mascara!

I’ve always been a makeup-removing balm girl, mainly because my waterproof mascara is apparently bulletproof 😂. I used to use the Farmacy Green Clean balm, but it was getting a little out of my budget, so I started using makeup wipes instead. Big mistake—having to rub my eyes so much to get my mascara off was starting to really irritate them. My friend recommended the e.l.f. Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm, and I’m SO glad she did. It melts my makeup away so quickly and easily, including my stubborn waterproof mascara, without me having to aggressively rub at my eyes. e.l.f. specifically says the balm can break down waterproof mascara, and it melts from a solid balm into an oil before emulsifying into a milky texture that rinses away. The best part is the price. The regular 2 oz size is currently around $12 directly from e.l.f., which is way more budget-friendly for me than the Farmacy balm. I honestly wasn’t expecting to like a cheaper alternative this much, but this has completely replaced my more expensive cleansing balm.
