I watched several videos on how to clean this unit and two problems emerged: (1) will take 30+ minutes, and (2) requires a special screwdriver that I didn't have to remove some of the important screws. My Dyson was acting up where I was getting low hissing sounds, which I found out means the bypass was activated because there was excess blockage somewhere, and by process of elimination it had to be in this unit. So I bought a new cyclone assembly for under $100, and now the vacuum works like new. My unit was more than 8 years old, so having to replace this to get like-new suction was definitely worth it. ... show more

The OG cyclone on my Dyson cinetic has holes in the mesh filters and this fits perfectly. Now I'm just waiting for the OG to die before using the replacement
