I had surgery and part of my incision was “spitting stitches”. Sometimes your body rejects suture material that is just below your skin before the sutures have a chance to dissolve. This wound complication is more irritating than anything, it’s an infection waiting to happen. My surgeon said it is going to take its sweet time to heal, and mine sure did! To prevent infection; I needed to keep the area covered and apply antiseptics twice daily. These gauze pads are as good if better than similar gauze pads from the drug store. I was going through four of them a day, so the cost of this product versus what they cost at the store was very appealing. The box at the store only contained 10 pads. These work just as well, and they didn’t stick to or irritate my delicate weeping wound. These absorbed the fluids from the wound and my sweat, but not the antiseptic gel that I was applying to my wound. I have very sensitive skin, and it was even more sensitive from the surgery. These were not a problem. It took my incision 7 long weeks to close: I’m happy that I got these. These are individually wrapped and sterile, so they are good to have around the house in my medicine cabinet. The cost is so much better than at the big box or drug stores. These would be great for someone with surgical wounds or a slow healing chronic wound instead of going through box after box from the store. I recommend them. My wound care regimen was washing the area with a chlorhexadine soap (don’t know the brand-my nurse gave me some in a bottle), applying Medihoney, and taping these with 3M micropore tape. These gauze pads did not stick to the Medihoney. This worked very well for me and my wound is now healed and I have started scar therapy. I found all of these products here on Amazon. ... show more

quality is good. difficult to peel the wrapper so I tear it most of the time which is not an issue at all. I am not sure about absorbing but it protects the wound.

Just food for thought: I am allergic to latex and I had no reaction to these. I have had the worst flare-up of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) due to stress. My wound was located in an area that is hard to get air to. These pads made the healing process SO much easier. I made a mistake trying to heal a deep wound with the hydrocolloid bandaids. But all I needed was these pads and some medical tape (and prescribed antibiotics of course). These pads were able to cushion the wound and hold ointment well. Which made it less painful to move. It as dealt really well with sweat as well. These also make really great quick bandaids! Used it on a camping trip when my boyfriend nicked his finger. My package did arrive opened but I think it’s because of heavier items throw into one Amazon box. But I LOVED that each pad is individually packed and sterile. And easy to cut into size with scissors (not with a knife, learned that the hard way). ... show more

When the skin is open it is always difficult to cover with bandages and then they stick to the would. This product does not and just cover it with gauze the keep in place and can be changed easily.
