My wound care specialist from the wound center suggested these to me to use on days that I don't go into the center or that someone doesn't come to the house to change my bandages. My wounds coverage must be changed daily. These Calcium Alginate 4"x4" are the perfect size, they absorb so much liquid keeping the fluid away from my open wounds. Most of the time the other brands that are used stick to my wounds and cause me pain while being removed. I love this brand of Dr. Med because it doesn't stick to my wounds when being removed. That is a huge plus. I ordered 2 boxes and they arrived 2 days after the order was placed. I will order more in a couple of days. I would definitely recommend Dr. Med Calcium Alginate 4"x4" wound patches.

These bandages are much thinner than I was expecting especially compared to more expensive ones that are about 1/8" thick with honey on both sides. But the wound was just before healing and these bandages provided the benefit of honey for healing. I doubt they would be very absorbent. The very thin honey aginate sits on a paper(?) backing. They worked fine for us but was not what I was expecting. I you need an absorbent pad, this will probably disappoint and need to be covered with a telfa pad or cotton sponge.

It was very thin. They absorb well for how thin they are, but they certainly are not what I thought they would be. We need something that is super absorbent and this helped but did not do the job. If the leakage were less these would work, maybe.
