Casein typically doesn’t taste as smooth as whey—it’s naturally a wee bit gritty—but Dymatize blends and tastes better than most others I’ve tried, other than Optimum Nutrition. I prefer the ON cookies and cream to this one, but just barely, as I think it taste a little better, but it costs more. So, price relative to value, this is my go-to. This is a micellar casein, which is the best and least processed form of casein, which means it costs a little more than others. I take 50gs before bed, since you need more casein to stimulate muscle protein synthesis than with whey, but with casein it delivers over a much longer duration than whey, which is short-acting. I take it at bed after workout nights, but I’ll take just 25 on non-workout nights, if I think I’m out of the muscle-protein-synesthis window. I’ll take it at 50 g during the day if I don’t have time to make a meal and it’ll be a while before I can eat. This brand and flavor tastes good enough (and a lot better than Body Tech’s, and it mixes better, too), and I think it helps me sleep a tad bit better. I usually blend up a banana with it for some added fiber and carbs. The only con I can think of is that the caps on these are peculiarly stubborn to remove upon the initial opening, but just at first. I hope this review is helpful to somebody. ... show more

Great protein. Filling, all flavors mix pretty well. Great macros and competitive price. Haven't tried ON Casein, but have no need to convert. As far as the flavors go: Cinnamon Roll 2/5 Way too artificial tasting. It became disgusting / almost repulsive to me after having it too much. I ordered it first and still haven't gotten through it (while going through 4lbs of chocolate and 4lbs of cookies and cream). Some people love it, which is why I bought it first. I found it only tastes ok in a shake with almond milk. It's terrible for making pudding, subpar for pancakes -- anything besides shakes is dicey. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Chocolate 5/5 Tastes good in any form. I mean it's not a milkshake (like some people seem to claim, it doesn't have sugar for christs sake). But it's one of the best tasting protein powders I've had. Mixes well into a pudding, pancakes, anything really. Super versatile. Flavor isn't overwhelming...hard to get tired of. Sweet enough for a treat, but doesn't get tiring. Cookies and Cream 4.5/5 Pretty good. Has some of the artificial taste, but not that bad. Didn't enjoy it quite as much as chocolate, but it's a great way to mix it up. Would definitely recommend. I will be alternating between chocolate and cookies and cream going forward, probably buying chocolate a bit more. Overall a great product. Cookies and Cream. Blender Bottle acceptable, though way better in a Blender with Milk and a bit of Ice. Love this flavor. Hate the Vanilla. I'll use it for overnight oats occasionally. For overnight oats Whey is better.

If your hoping for an Oreo taste I'm sorry this isn't that but if want a high quality casiene it is still good but with such a particular flavor I was really hoping for it to be accurate and sadly it just tastes like the cream with none of the said cookie taste which does really suck I was hoping to replace the premier cookies and cream premade with this half the price powder but yeah no the flavor is very cheap tasting by comparison ... show more
