everything was packed very well. careful thought went into it. all the pieces were present with extra hardware. the instructions were good enough. EXCEPT the part where they lightly mark the four holes on side brackets that all need to face the same way! we had to take half of it apart to fix this mistake. more clear emphasis in the instructions are needed for that part. there was at least one EXTRA of every piece of hardware, not needed but appreciated. i asked a friend to help me put it together when i got to the shelves. i am female and have good experience with tools. and i'm stubborn about putting these things together on my own. i could have done the shelves on my own but chose not to this time since i wasn't feeling 100% well. it came together very nicely, sturdy especially with the cross-bars. it's a very attractive piece of furniture. i think it's a great value. i recommend this and anything from this company because of the care in packing and the quality materials. in fact i'm going to check the DWVO store out and see what else they might have... ... show more

    • Misaligned pre-drilled holes for the cross bars on the back

The box was packed well - be aware that the entire package is about 57 lbs, so it's heavy. The assembly instructions were fairly straight forward, and each of the elements were clearly labeled. However, there were 2 mistakes: 1) One of the 4 pre-drilled holes was on the wrong side, so if everything was aligned correctly, only 1 of the 2 crossbars can be put in. However; 2) The cross bars were too short to be installed correctly. Since I got all the shelves installed, I did not bother to return it, assuming the crossbars were for looks and not actual stability. Nonetheless, they are still major flaws if you were looking for a complete product as pictured.. ... show more

I can’t believe that I’m the very first person to review this shelving unit!! But I’m so impressed with it that I wanted to let everyone know that it really is a very good quality piece of furniture. The assembly was not difficult and the finished product is very heavy and stable. It comes with a wall attachment and I certainly would recommend anyone with children to use that. All the items needed for assembly were provided and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. The shelf is nice and looks great in my room. It only took me a few hours to put together- no drill or screwdriver needed. It holds a lot and is great value for the price. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because a few pieces of the metal were dented.
