    • No adjustments, no fussing... it just works
Size: 2 PACK Style: Adapter DVI M to HDMI F
Review Image by MED-REK
I got a new computer and needed to connect it to an old but still working display. Of course, the new computer had DisplayPort and HDMI outputs, and the old display had DVI and VGA inputs. I decided to get this Benfei DVI-to-HDMI adapter, since I know that DVI is a much better input system than VGA. The Benfei adapter came in a quantity of 2, and at a great price. Connecting it up could not be easier: I plugged the Benfei adapter into the DVI input on my display, then plugged the HDMI cable from the computer into the Benfei adapter. That's it... there are no settings or switches, no Windows adjustments to make it work. It just worked. I have been using one of the two for three months now, and it works perfectly with my display, which has a little lower resolution than full HD -- I think my display is 1680 x 1080, or something like that. In any event. My Windows 10 computer knew automatically what the display's resolution was, and it all works fine with no intervention on my part. Obviously, the Benfei DVI-to-HDMI adapter can pass the monitor information from the display through the adapter and back to the computer. Again, everything was completely automatic and transparent to me. If you have an older display with DVI input and need to connect a modern computer that has HDMI output, my experience is that this Benfei connector works exactly the way you want it to work. I recommend it. ... show more

    • Not sure how this works, but it does.
Size: 2 PACK Style: Adapter DVI M to HDMI F
This was too large so I had to take nippers and nip a big chunk of plastic off the side of my other adjacent VGA cable on my PC, because I could not plug this HDMI-DVI converter plug into my computer, due to it hitting the adjacent VGA. Destroying the VGA plug permanently by nipping a big slam of plastic off the side of it, made it all jive properly. So, I have only a VGA port and a DVI port on my computer. Nothing else. I'm running 2 monitors. You should buy the MSI PRO MP251 E2 (24.5" inch) monitor because it has a VGA port on it, and an HDMI port on it, and at the time of this writing, its only $90, for a HUGE monitor with an EXTREMELY good viewing angle. It also has no logo on the bezel, and has built in speakers, and low blue light mode! OUTSTANDING. The HDMI-DVI adapter works to connect an HDMI cable from my computer to the new 24.5" inch monitor, the MSI PRO MP251 E2. It also worked with a previous Phillips 24" monitor I tried, but returned the Philips because the viewing angle was atrocious. They make a VGA to HDMI but it's about 3 times more expensive and requires USB voltage and so you have to plug it into a USB port, in addition to your VGA port, to provide the voltage boost needed for HDMI. The good news is the VGA to HDMI adapter also has an 1/8" male stereo cable on it, so you can create a full working HDMI signal replete with AUDIO, if you want to use the HDMI audio function. ... show more

Didn't have a HDMI port on my desktop to connect to new monitor with HDMI input only. But I did have a digital video card installed with a DVI port. Used this adapter and was able to use new monitor.
