  • Beautiful Trellis
Color: White
This is our third Trellis and they are beautiful. It does take some time to build but it not hard once you organize all the parts, it is like a puzzle...have fun! We glued the caps on top. Make sure you line up all the holes for your screws on the same side. Sturdy, and they do make a statement. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Assembly Tips and Photos
Color: Mocha
This trellis looks beautiful! It is very sturdy when secured to the wall. Some people have complained about the color (putty) but I think it looks very nice; especially considering it is a trellis and will hopefully be covered with plants someday. As a side note, white vinyl fence material reflects a lot of heat and will sun scorch most of the plants next to it, let alone the ones touching it. This is another reason for the putty color. Here are some helpful installation tips if you decide to purchase this trellis... When placing the horizontal rails in the end posts, make sure the side with holes is facing up on each rail. The instructions do not mention this but it is necessary because one of the last steps is to secure each horizontal rail with a screw. I'm sure I could have drilled through the rails that did not have the hole face up, but I wanted it to appear seamless on the front side and random empty holes would have defeated that. Second, some of the horizontal rails want to bow ever so slightly prior to the step where you secure them to the vertical slats with a screw. You can correct this by using your tape measure (which the instructions say to have handy, but then they never have you use) to measure 6.5" between the horizontal slats before you place your screw. If you do this the whole way up the trellis, everything will be evenly spaced and will be level all the way to the top. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Quality item
Color: Mocha
Quality item. Shipped quickly. It is a good value for the $$. . Our 47 year marriage survived the assembly. There were good instructions but takes a bit of patience to line everything us and keep it lined up. It takes 2 people for sure. It MUST be on a level surface for assembly. Pieces fit perfectly which is a good thing. When assembled it is sturdy and will surly work for my climbing roses. It has plenty of bracing screws although we had to use anchors for the screws that are not supplied. ... show more

  • Awesome trellis at a great price!
Color: White
This is an awesome trellis! I initially bought two, then ended up installing a total of 8 along my fence to support fast-growing Petrea vines (like Wisteria, but do well in Florida weather) that grow tall and thick and provide privacy from my neighbors (whose houses are only 15 feet from mine). The trellises are taller than my 6’ fence, and support even taller vines. I live in Florida, so tropical vines grow fast, but climbing roses would also be gorgeous in any climate.. The trellises are over 5 years old and still look sturdy. They even survived 2 hurricanes last year!. I bought 2 spares for later, just in case. Unfortunately, I lost the hardware in one of them and need to figure out where to get a replacement… ... show more

  • Get This Trellis! [But you need the RIGHT screwdriver bit!]
Color: White
My white Dura-Trel 96 in. x 57 in. White Vinyl PVC Winchester trellis arrived quickly, packaged in thick cardboard. (I purchased one before, Yeah, yeah, I liked it well enough that I bought it again, despite the 4-stars.) I needed a screwdriver to use as a lever to get into the package because it was so well sealed in that heavy cardboard. I knew that I would need a #2 SQUARE-headed screwdriver bit to attach (using the manufacturer's included screws) the trellis to my patio supports. This was an irritation to me. Who has a #2 square-headed screwdriver bit just sitting around? Phillips, hex, and flat-heads, yes, but square? And then, because the local box store had them, but would only sell two in a package, that chapped my hide more. *growl* You also need (if you want to attach the spikes on top) glue, which I had but did not use because I was going to slide it under my patio roof. Assure your measurements are spot-on if you are putting it in a tight space. To my chagrin, my trellis seemed to grow an extra six inches (AND flail around) when I was trying to get it in place. (yeah, Dura-Tech include the spacers that hold the trellis away from a wall so vines can wind up the bars. Don't forget to include this in the depth measurement if you'll be using them.) IF you live in a high wind area, i.e., Santa Anas, howling gales, etc., think about how you are going to fasten the trellis down. The bottom posts that stick out are only about six inches long. It's not hard to dig out the small bit of soil for the two vertical supports, but having something at the bottom, not just screwing it to a wall or post. I suggest getting two of those 5mm wide, 1-ft (?) long steel bars from the local box store for about $1.50 each. Drive it into the hole in the ground (that you dug for the supports) with a hammer and slide the trellis over it. That way it' would be fastened on three sides. *IF you get more than one and plan on fastening two of them together at any point, do pay attention. When you get the second one, don't forget to PRE-DRILL the vertical support for the screws that are going to be attached to trellis #1. Otherwise, trying to put it together, then drilling/screwing of the support as an afterthought is an exercise in pain--trying to get the drill track straight because the uprights and crosspieces next to the support get in the way of the drill. (Of course, if you're into masochism or love crooked screws, don't listen.) *IF you're a stickler for neatness, note that there are tiny holes in some of the supports--but only on ONE side of EACH of them. If you put this thing together without making sure that ALL the holes are on one side of the trellis, you will have to flip it over to fasten the supports with the screws using the holes on the OTHER side of the trellis because you missed this, or you will have to take some of it apart to fix it. It's not rocket science, but it is a pain in the ___. When trying to get the pieces to slide into the holes of the horizontal pieces, a jiggling, side-to-side motion helps...almost like vibrating it gently. Ramming it in won't help. Tap into the zen part of your brain. *Note: having a second person help you holding things is invaluable. Yes, I'm a danger-mouse with tools, but even I needed a man (or woman) with big musk-kuls to help angle it under the patio roof overhang, next to the patio pad, but behind my 5-ft tall x 5-ft wide grape tomato plant (it's an indeterminate volunteer & still growing) and a wild 7-ft grape vine. The trellis is not overly heavy but can be unwieldy. And you definitely don't want to be trying to put it up when it's windy, or you'll fly Wright away, brother! *giggle* (I'd love to say I was the epitome of grace and elegance putting this trellis up, but I can't lie.) Yes, I would buy this item again in a heartbeat. It would make a fine gift for someone, especially if you put it together for them, if they are into gardening. (Hint 1001--Put the trellis in BEFORE the plant needs it.) It's relatively simple to put together if you are able to read and comprehend instructions & have the right tools. Best of Luck! ... show more
