I put 3 of these up in front of my house to cover a stone wall about 3-4 years ago. They are beautiful. I grow clematis on each one in summer and put wreaths on them during the Christmas season. They look exactly the same as they did the day I originally put them up. They are about 6 inches apart, fastened to the wall with spacers about 6 inches off the wall. It makes all the difference in the world!! Great product!!

I placed two of these trellises at right angles and secured them to each other with zip ties. I then added a diagonal crossbar (again using zip ties) to create a place from which to hang my goldfinch feeder. The beautiful little yellow birds are really using their new cafe. (Zoom in on the photo to see all the customers.) The horizontal trellis pieces serve as a perch or waiting room. The one negative is that the slats are actually woven. While this reduces the packaging for the manufacturer, it creates a “wavy” pattern when viewed from any angle other than exactly straight on. I think this somewhat cheapens the overall look.
