  • Perfect Pontiac Blue – Looks Factory Fresh!
Color: Pontiac Blue Metallic Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I used this Dupli-Color Pontiac Blue Metallic spray on my classic Pontiac engine, and the results were outstanding. The color is spot-on for the original factory shade and really brings that vintage look back to life. The paint lays down smooth, dries quickly, and the ceramic formula holds up great to heat—no peeling, fading, or bubbling even after several heat cycles. One can covered more than I expected, but I’d recommend picking up an extra just in case. The nozzle sprays evenly without clogging, and the finish has a nice metallic sheen that really pops under the hood. If you’re doing a restoration or just want to refresh your engine bay, this is the paint to get. Highly recommend for any Pontiac enthusiast! ... show more

  • Would recommend
Color: Black Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
It worked great for painting my motorcycle engine and stator cover . Looks sleek as can be now. No bubbles or run spots. Just gotta apply paint in thin coats. I just wish it had a better sprayer on it for thinner sprays But I would absolutely recommend. I was able to paint my engine and cover without getting paint on anything else. • Cast Aluminum color is just right
Color: Cast Coat Aluminum Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The media could not be loaded. I love the engine enamel series. It holds up well and the colors are just what I want. I am restoring an engine and needed another can of the cast aluminum paint. It has a nice look to it and I prefer it over other brands. The as cast Iron has a nice genuine look to it as well. I've been using these paints 15+years and they hold up well. ... show more

  • It's not as good as the old 1200-degree paint that they used to make
Color: Gloss Black Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I used to really like the old 1200-degree paint that Dupli-Color used to make. This stuff isn't horrible and is still much better than typical rattle-can paint. But it's nowhere near as the old stuff. The reason this paint is better than typical rattle-paint is that it can withstand heat and therefore small parts can be "baked" in an oven to really harden and cure the paint. The problem with typical rattle-can paint is that the stuff chips, scratches, and peels so darn easily. If you had a UV paint-drying booth to really get a good cure on the paint like professionals use even rattle-can paint would be much tougher. As it is rattle can paint never really dries or hardens properly and is very susceptible to damage because of this. I think everyone knows what I'm talking about. You can pretty much scratch it with your fingernail. The best you can do is leave it out in the hot-hot sun for weeks or even months before it is ever used. This helps -but isn't really practical or handy. I knew people who would paint bicycle frames and leave them up the roof all summer before even attempting to build them into a bike. But this high-heat paint can actually be popped right into your OVEN and baked for hours at 350-400 degrees. The longer you bake it (and the closer you can get it to the maximum heat it (and the parts you are painting) without damaging the piece the better the paint will harden and cure. If you have an old pizza oven you can even bake a whole bicycle frame. I've actually used the 1200-degree stuff on internal and external gun parts -and baked it at as hot as I could get in an old oven in my garage for 6 hours. After waiting a few days after it cools down the finish is comparable to what black-finished guns come with from the factory. It won't scratch or chip very easily and can withstand harsh chemicals like bore-cleaning fluids and gun oils without being effected. Unfortunately this lower-rated stuff isn't really that tough :( It's pretty good -but not gun-part tough. I've painted quite a few bicycle parts with this and it is as tough as the factory paint. It'll still chip but it is WAY better than junk ordinary rattle-can paint. It works well on engine parts although on exhaust manifolds it isn't going to hold up as temps get more than 600-degree (and you know that they cheat on these numbers anyhow for long-term heat exposure. At a sustained 600-degree exposure I'm sure this paint would eventually fail unlike the 1200-degree version which would do well on headers. I only wish I could still find the 1200-degree stuff. I don't know why they quit making it. I'd give that 5 stars but this stuff only gets 4 -really 3-1/2 stars but I'll be generous. ... show more

  • AWESOME!
Color: Plum Purple Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have painted a few engine components that have been exposed to Hi-Temps with great results. I never knew they made a Hi-Temp Clear. My current project is a 99 OBS Escahoe with 6.0 LS Swap and 4wd 80e. I painted the block using the simple steps what I have done for years. Strip using a wire brush, soak with engine de-greaser, power wash, dry, & paint. I wanted to paint my transmission purple b/c it is the same color as ATS Diesel's Transmissions & the Mrs. favorite color (but we all know the real deal) LOL. I couldn't get it at Advanced Auto Parts, I was forced to go online. Amazon had the best price but still about $3 more per can then at Advanced. When I found purple paint, Amazaon offered the primer and clear as well. I honestly had no clue about the primer spray and clear coat. I read a helpful review that the CLEAR COAT will form a SMOOTH surface over the paint. Smooth means less abrasive and the engine grime and dirt can't be in-bedded. The Cleared Part will be easy to maintain over the years keep my hard work clean! So I choose to do 3 stages Amazon recommended Primer. Paint, Clear. I still prepped (wire brush, de-grease, & power wash) the transmission before I lay first coat of primer (ended do three coats). I did as the directions on the can said to for all three stages of the paint phase. I WILL BE HONEST: When I first laid the clear I was upset, it seemed to dull the gloss purple paint that was finished drying. After it drying for 24 hours, the shine came back. Not glossy as originally it was, but the POP effect was there. The first thing I did was run my CLEAN hands over the cleared transmission & it was smooth as a virgin's bottom. I was very pleased & tempted to strip my block and re-do it in the 3 stages. I will leave the block and transmission as is see how they compare over a year and chime back in! Here is link my photobucket account of both motor and engine: [...] Hope this helps! ff40 ... show more
