I use this on plastic trims before painting and it just works
I cleaned the bumper with degreaser, scuffed it lightly, then laid down two thin coats of this adhesion promoter. I just walk around the truck, spray, wait, and by the time I check a couple emails it is dry to the touch. Then I hit it with color. Three months later, after rain, highway dust, and one rushed grocery run where I bumped a low curb, the paint is still holding on with no weird peeling or soft spots. I used it for clean plastic bonds
I grabbed this Dupli-Color adhesion promoter because my model kit kept popping the paint off the small plastic parts. I sprayed a thin clear coat, waited a minute, then hit it with color. The next day the finish stayed put when I handled it and flexed the pieces a bit 🙂. Nice and easy to apply, and it smells like normal spray paint 😅. ... show more

Absolutely the best primer for plastic ever!
I am learning to customize dolls and a certain Doll came out from Monster High that has stilettos. They made him up horrible gray color and alls I could think of is how good they would look great they would look in Chrome silver (by the way I bought Chrome pens from Amazon also that have chromium so they have a true reflective surface). Well anyhow I tried everything the pen wouldn't go on very smooth if you tried to touch it up it would make it wet again or it would just end up sticky. Then I started looking into primers I bought one and it didn't work because it had paint with it with paint and primer. Then I found this product and I swear to goodness if the Heavens would have opened with a light coming down focusing on this can I wouldn't have been shocked. This is extremely easy to use and the chrome paint pen goes on smooth and it dries fast and highly reflective. It's fast too. You do two or three light coats only waiting at least 3 minutes in between and then after the last coat you can start doing your Chrome I think I waited like 30 seconds. This is such a great product I have already bought another can and I'm not even finished with the first one! I think the key words are adhesion promotion for plastic. And it worked for that softer kind of plastic too. I am just over the moon over this product it could not be better. And honestly the price Maybe a $15 but I wasted a lot more than that buying other products that cost $7 that didn't work. ... show more

A useful prep step for refreshing plastic pieces in my home office
Got this for a small refresh of the plastic drawer unit beside my home office desk. I manage office supplies all day, so I wanted the unit to match the calmer setup I was putting together at home. I cleaned the drawers, sprayed a light coat of this promoter, and waited before applying paint. It was easy to fit into my prep routine, and the clear coating didn’t change the plastic’s color while I worked. Nice for plastic car trims
I grabbed this for a little car project in between classes because the plastic interior in my old Civic looked rough. I wiped everything down, sprayed this on first, then hit it with some black paint. The paint actually stayed put and did not scratch off when my roommate tossed her backpack in the front seat. I was pretty glad about that. I just do light coats and wait a few minutes, so it fits into my day pretty easily. The nozzle sprays smooth, no weird blobs. Smell is strong, so I did it in the dorm parking lot with the doors open. Now my dash and door panels look way less faded, and it makes the car feel less like a beater. ... show more
