It’s a classic Duncan yo-yo. I wind the string around it, put my finger through the loop, flip it off my fingers, and watch it go down to the nadir of its spin, and stay there. I try again, trying harder to make it return. It doesn’t. I try a third time, pulling up hard when it hits the bottom, and just miss breaking my glasses. I give it to a grandchild, who can immediately start doing tricks with it. [I shouldn’t have let the grandkid use it— up until he touched it, I could have claimed the yo-yo was defective...] Yup. It’s a classic Duncan Yo-Yo, the same as one I had as a kid back in the ‘60s. I couldn’t make it work then, either. ... show more

Duncan yo-yos are the best! This Butterfly one feels great in your hand. The only thing is that I had to take the string off and re tie it because it wasn't coming back up at first. But after re tying it it works perfectly! (I actually felt like super-mom because my son was very sad it didn't work at first and just abandoned it. I should have read the reviews, so partially my fault. I searched and searched for a yo-yo like I had as a kid. The opaque orange with a black logo is what I remember. I was so happy to find one for sale. Unfortunately this is the clear orange with the silver logo. I know it doesn't seem big, but it is not as pictured. Used it for a prop in a show. The actor didn't have a lot of experience with yo-yos but he had no problem using it. The body is good quality and sturdy. The string was okay. Good if you need an inexpensive yo-yo fast.
