These sanding sticks work well for softer items like sanding wood filler or dry wall, they don't work as well for sanding paint. I've used them for refinishing a doll house. They do leave black marks that I had to wash or paint over when I try to sand paint or dried glue with them, but are great for wood filler and non-painted wood. The black marks are the grit coming off the stick and so the stick is used up very quickly for sanding paint. Once this happens, I use the exposed wood point on the sanding stik to pick the dried glue or paint off my project and sand with a fresh stick after. Not optimal, but since 20 sticks was more than enough for my project, I thought they are a good value. ... show more

These sanding sticks don't work. Their durability is terrible - even on softer woods the tips immediately start spilling lots of little particles into the wood surface, giving it an ugly gray discoloration. The tips don't actually sand down the material because the particles all rub off right away. The tips are not actually as small and fine as the images suggest, so you won't be able to get into the little nooks and crannies. Just a waste of money. Stick with sandpaper, I guess. ... show more
