Let's get into the nuts and bolts. First things first, the price can be felt in the build quality. Plastic and kind of hard to move around, but once you get it in place, it's there. Sometimes it will slip down when we are on bumpy roads, but I can't fault it. That's just the product of bad streets in my area. Charging is great, the opening and closing of the automatic gripper is solid. Had to place it on the side of the console that can be a bit off centered from where I would want it. Really wanted to like this product. It charges the phone well and I can keep my fold6 fully expanded. However, the adjustment clamps that are supposed to keep the device in your desired fixed position don't last. Mine have failed and I can only have the phone in the lowest position. The ideal mounting position is center just above my backup camera screen and audio controls. Well, since it's failed to the lowest adjustment point I have to give up access to my backup camera screen if I want to use this. Bit of a problem. Maybe I got a lemon, but I've only had little more than a month and feel like it was too expensive to fail so quickly. No return option and the troubleshooting tips don't assist my specific issue.     • Best solution I've found for car mounting Z Fold 5

I tried a couple of other less expensive options, mostly because I honestly didn't need a car mount that wirelessly charged my phone. It's just as easy to use a USB-C cable to plug it in. But having tried two other non-charging mounts that either didn't adhere to the dashboard for more than a day, and one that could not keep its clip grip on a vent, I decided to try the more expensive option. This JOYVEVA (rather an odd name, but there it is), is so far kind of, well, "joyful" in that it works. I tried the vent clip, which does hold very firmly, but in my particular vehicle, allowed the phone to hang a little bit too low, obscuring my center infotainment screen. So I decided to use the dash mounted arm instead, thus raising my phone up higher. I dry mounted to find the exact placement, then peeled off the protective film on the round black rubber disk that you affix to the dash. They recommend pressing it firmly for a full minute and leaving it to sit for at least an hour before you attach the suction mounted arm. I let it sit overnight and then attached the arm/phone cradle. There are two adjustment locks on the arm... one that 'pumps' out the air to create suction, and the other to adjust the angle of the arm to follow the curve of the dash. The cradle is sleek and attractive. The best feature is perhaps that the arms that hold the phone open and close automatically. When you place your phone on the lower lip, the arms contract until they make contact with the phone I can use my Z Fold 5 open, which is nice as it sometimes provides better directions than my car does with its installed navigation. You press a button on the bottom of the cradle to retract the arms and remove your phone. You can still do this right after you turn the car off even though there is no power going to the USB port on the car after the ignition is turned off. You can use this cradle even if you have a non-foldable phone or want your Fold to be closed. The charging coils will shake hands with most devices, I would think. ... show more

Bad plastic quality. It deforms under direct sunlight. The hinge stopped holding its position after just one week. Otherwise, the wireless charging works so far. It grips and holds the Fold 5 securely.

I bought a lot of so called "best mount" for Samsung fold phone series, and they all require the phone to be in portrait mode and therefore blocks the lock button and the volume rocker. Every tumble on the road will kill my volume to 0. The phone itself is also extremely heavy, so after both my phone and the mount fell off of the air vent a couple of times, I just stopped using mounts all together. This one is different, it doesn't block the buttons and its third leg from behind locks it securely onto my car's air vent, which is incredibly convenient. This product exceeded my expectations. I drive a 2013 Mini Cooper and recently purchased the Samsung Z fold 5 to augment my outdated GPS software. Because of the two prong support for the air vent clip, I was able to securely attach the piece to the vent above the speedo. With the auto adjustment holder and self charging, I'm able to place the phone, opened or closed in a matter of seconds with ease. When open, the eyesight line is in perfect position (actually better than the OEM in the gauge cluster), that makes navigation better than ever! Great product and highly recommended! ... show more
