This is much easier to use than a crutch. Being new to canes (68 yrs old with recent knee surgery) I needed one quickly as I was too clumsy with a crutch. This inexpensive adjustable cane not only fits the bill, but it also lets me figure out the correct length for my desired long-term, daily use, cut-to-length "dress-up" cane that I will eventually need. This is the perfect cane to take on the go. I was planning to travel, and needed a folding cane to take with me. I know Drive is a good brand, since my mother has a few items made by them, and decided to go with this brand. It's sturdy and helps me balance easily without any issues. This cane folds up easily and unfolds with just a shake, making me feel as though I'm ready to try out for James Bond at any moment. I'm having a hard time figuring out how many stars to award. I've had this cane for about three years. It is sturdy and still folds easily unlike other folding canes I've had that begin to stick over time. I've easily and quickly replaced the worn-out rubber tip a couple of times. I love the handle loop which allows me to safely hang it from the handle of my shopping cart so that it won't fall off. And, I can lean it against a wall and the gel handle prevents it from slipping and falling to the ground. I use my cane a lot, and this gel handle is the most comfortable I've ever owned. My hand isn't cramped and sore anymore. However -- as you can see from the photos, the gel handle wears away pretty quickly. I took these pictures a couple months ago, and at this point the gel is almost completely gone, and now the handle is covered in a mess of sticky residue. The cane itself looks like new but Drive doesn't sell a replacement handle and I see no way to remove the handle even if I could find a replacement. I purchased a cane handle cover that wraps around the handle and attaches with velcro. It works to extend the life of the cane, but it's thick and and my hands are small; consequently it makes the cane feel less stable. Nevertheless, I'm considering buying this same cane again if I can't find any other gel-handled cane with a replaceable handle. In case this is helpful -- I am 5' 4" and I have the cane set on the second-to-lowest setting. I think this cane may be too tall for anyone much shorter than 5' 3". ... show more

Great, affordable cane. I like that it folds up, I just wish there was some way to hold it together when it's folded. Bought for gout flares.

Very sturdy, yet lightweight cane. Easily folds and snaps back into open position with a flick of the wrist. The handgrip is very comfortable as well. My hip is worn out, and some days it’s very painful and I have to lean heavily on this cane to get around. It holds up beautifully, and I always feel confident it will support me. According to the manual that came with the cane it's supposed to have an anti rattle locking collar at the bottom of first section. This piece of plastic does nothing it's supposed to lock and unlock as needed. Otherwise it's a well made cane but it does rattle when you use it.
