  • WORKS!
My husband and I were in a 12ft fishing boat with oars only. Fishing was awesome and then the wind picked up! We used this as instructed; couldn’t believe the power it had! Of course this all relies on the power drill you’re using. It depleted one battery after 20 minutes at full power, but with the weather, it really helped tremendously. On a calm day in a kayak we’d be flying! ... show more

  • Really works!
I use this in my Cumberland float tube. The most important thing to factor into this is a good drill and batteries. I have a 20v Dewalt drill I use with the drill paddle. It came with 1.5AH batteries and you can get 15-20 mins use out of them. I bought 2 6AH batteries and with those I can use the drill paddle for hours. Just make sure not to use the drill constantly, it will ruin your drill, give the drill breaks to cool down. The Dewalt drill/2 1.5AH batteries and charger was $99. The 2 6AH batteries were $190 and the drill paddle was $50 when I bought it, so all together I’m into it $339. My justification was I can always use a nice drill/batteries for around the house. So to sum this up it’s a great buy but if you want to use the thing for more than 15-20 mins get bigger AH batteries. ... show more

  • Poor Manufacturers Packing = Arrived Damaged
The box (original manufacturers box, not a secondary one by vendor), arrived bent and banged up and torn in places all along the box. In fact it was torn almost in half, and even had one end open. There was zero internal packing in the box. The drill paddle had just been placed inside. As a result the shaft of the drill paddle was bent on arrival. All as shown in the pictures above. I have more, but they get the main idea across. Please note the label on the box. This is a manufacturers issue, not just a shipping problem. The reason is that while the damage almost certainly occurred in shipping, the damage to the prop might have been avoided if there was any internal packing at all to give the box some support/structure. Or at least to pad the drill paddle from extreme handling. In fact since I had no other option when I sent it back, I had to tape up the box it arrived in to make it usable. I then stuffed some of the air bags from another amazon shipment into it on either side of the shaft as I inserted it. The result was a box that was noticeably stiffer than one without the air bags. I really don't know if it would been enough to protect the original shipment, but putting something that takes up maybe 10% of the available box space in without any padding at all, whether air bags, rolled up paper or styrofoam or whatever, is to me a serious manufacturing defect. I think this would have been a nice product, and would have preferred an exchange to a return, but wasn't given the option. Of course, without the padding the new item might have encountered the same issue in shipping without packing being included by the manufacturer. I gave two stars because I did try it out during the delay in getting return approval, and it worked about as expected. But if the manufacturer can't bother to pack it well as part of their process, it's at least a possible red flag. ... show more

  • What a "Awesome" idea this is
I just received my propeller in fashion delivery. Pony express must have wings. Great job guys. This propeller is going to be awesome for my float tube it will save the legs when I'm out 1/2 mile or more in the lakes. I"m going to need to shorten the shaft a little since I'm in a fishing float tube but not to short where the propellers might hit the sides. I'm also going to secure it to the cross bar with a conduit pipe holder. I had to test it in bathtub and it has a lot of torque and it will work fine. I'll be using it this weekend out on the lake and see for a real test run. yes i'll have extra batteries for my craftman 12v drill. it fits perfectly in the drill clasps. diffenly will be powering the drill in short sperts just like you would do with a foot peddle trolling motor. Happy Floating and fishing. ... show more

  • Works great!!
The media could not be loaded. It look about ten min to get used to the steering. A 2 Amp battery lasted 2 hrs, so a 5-7 Amp will last longer. One a 1 setting on the drill it was a nice slow trolling, on 2 high speed I was able to go across the small lake in 5 min, large lake 10-15 min. Also I was going 5-7 min at a time on the drill so not to burn out the drill. ... show more

  • Works but I wouldn't depend on it.
It works with a cordless drill and I am using it on a 12' aluminum boat in our pond. It will move the boat without having to use the drill at max speed. But if there is any wind or gusts, this drill paddle will have barely enough power to counteract the wind. It also seems to be really out of balance as there is a lot of vibration, I'm going to try to use my mower blade balancer to see if I can correct it. Overall, it does work but I would not depend solely on this drill paddle, I always take other means to get me back to the dock. ... show more

  • Surprisingly useful
I was skeptical of this when I first got it but it’s surprisingly useful. Not good for consistent use but for getting from point a to point b or moving from spot to spot on a small fishing lake works great. I also have multiple drills and batteries I use for work including a 9 and 12 amp hour battery. It’s hard to steer in a kayak. The speed is that of a consistent paddle. I bought 2 to use in a canoe I have yet to try that. In a kayak it works well especially being light weight and sleek to stash away while not in use. ... show more

  • Can't wait to use it!!
Seller was a bit late to ship but given the current situation and circumstances it's understandable. The paddle was well packed. Feels pretty solid. Propeller looks legit and the foam is pretty good quality as well. I haven't been able to use it due to bad weather but honestly can't wait to have some fun with it. My only concern is hoping my drill doesn't slip out of my hands. Giving it 4 stars cause I haven't used it yet but so far it deserves what it has. ... show more
