  • Vastly superior longevity and quality than the cheap knock-off sanding bands
Style: 1/2" sanding bands
This is a review of Dremel 445 1/2" 240 grit sanding band, 6 Pack. I bought my Dremel tool, Dremel 8050-N/18 Micro Rotary Tool Kit with 18 Accessories , primarily for grinding my dog's (Standard Poodle) nails. I've had much better luck using Dremel brand sanding bands for that purpose. The knock-off sanding bands (which are far less expensive) are simply not as effective or as long lasting as the Dremel brand. Yes the Dremel brand bands cost more but the quality is worth the cost. I can grind the nails of my dog many times before I need to replace the sanding band. Totally worth it as I will only use 3-240 grit bands a year to do my dog's nails. The sanding band in my photo is a 120 grit and has been used at least 10-14 times to grind my dog's nails. It is still getting the job done. I first use the 120 grit bands to quickly get most of the nail ground down then use the 240 grit bands to finish the nails. I find that the 240 grit bands can't be used as many times as the more coarse 120 grit bands but I still get many uses out of them before I need to replace them ... show more

  • Good Quality Product
Style: 1/2" sanding bands
I always found Dremel tools to be top-notch in quality and workmanship and these sanding sleeves are no exception. They fit snugly onto the rubber mandrel and perform as they should. I use them to do initial rough sanding on the edges of my leather-working projects. You can find knock-off imitations of the same product on the market that offer 10 or 20 times the amount of sleeves for half or even less the money. I’ve never tried any of them, because of concerns with quality. After reading some of the reviews on the imitation brands, I usually find that my concerns were justified. If you want quality, pay the extra price and get Dremel; it pays for itself in the long run. ... show more

  • Picture is misleading, too smooth for dog nails
Style: 1/2" sanding bands
As a professional groomer, I was needing new sanding disks for grinding toenails. I wasn't sure what size I needed but the picture looked like this was what I normally use. Unfortunately, the grit was too smooth and I end up needing to change these out every 3-6 dogs. The product fit my Dremel well and seems of good enough quality, but was much too fine for the number of dogs I use it on. Will be ordering a more rough size in the future.. ... show more

  • Dremel products far outlast knock-off versions
Style: 1/4" sanding bands
I used this to polish steel sculptures I make. I have a knock-off brand of dremel device, which works quite well. But, the knock-off attachments, especially the sanding wheels, are garbage. After destroying the knock-off drums in a matter of minutes (but the drum and the mandrel), I got some official Dremel products. Night and day. The Dremel drums are much more resilient, last longer, and work better. Small price difference absolutely pays for itself. ... show more

  • Great sanding bands for trimming my dogs nails. (18 pound dog & 85 pound dog)
Style: 1/2" sanding bands
I use this for my dogs nails. Just let your dog sniff & touch it before turning it on. Be very patient. Turn it on and let them hear the Dremel tool. Then turn it off and let them sniff it or lay it near them. I sit comfortably near them and try not to stress as I do one nail and if they balk at the 2nd nail, I turn it off. Anytime they want to remove their paw from my hand or lap, I let them. I act as if I have all the time in the world. They relax and allow me to hold their paw for the 2nd nail. These Dremel sanding bands are just wonderful for giving my dogs their pawdecures. There are no sharp edges to snag on anything. I also noticed my small dog no longer digs holes in my back yard now that I keep his nails trimmed. No idea if those two are related - just thrilled no holes in my yard. ... show more

Style: 1/2" sanding bands
"To keep, or Not to Keep ? That is the question ! Whether it is Nobler to keep them for future projects or not." - ShakySpears Brittany's DIY Dad n Poet. This is the real Question. Cause I got my "Grits ", mixed up.! The lower, the rougher the Grit. I now have, fine grit bands. Best to keep em, for the future. ... show more

  • Better to pay more for a quality item.
Style: 1/2" sanding bands
I went ahead and tried the cheap bulk sanderwheels and was very disappointed. So back to Dremel's brand and no issues or problems with the wheels self destructing. You pay a bit more but you get a lot more out of them for that price. It is better to pay a little more for better quality and that is what Dremel is giving you. ... show more

  • Dremel brand is the best.
Style: 1/2" sanding bands
Genuine Dremel is the best, I have purchased China brands of these drum sanding discs and they fold in while pressing on to rubber drum, they just are a pain in the ass. Dremel brand is firm and go on great, without issues. I will No longer purchase the big value China packs ,as they ended up in the trash. ... show more
